Angelinos
Oct 29, 2009 by dave and charmaine from detroit,mi, northfield,vt
Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8
Food:[10] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[7]

  • Incredible food! Will go again.
  • Tad long wait.

“The food was to die for. Hot tasty fresh. By far the best Italian restaurant I have been to in Vermont, and I have tried them. The only thing I would change would be the time. It took about 30 minutes, but the waitress was very on top of things.”

Miss Lyndonville Diner
Oct 23, 2009 by SnowDay from Glastonbury, Ct
Overall Rating: 3 User Rating Score: 3
Food:[9] • Service:[9] •

  • An enjoyable diner atmosphere.
  • Disappointing food experience.

“As a frequent traveler to Vermont I had heard about this diner so I decided to visit while staying in Lyndon. We went in for supper and came out extremely disappointed. I ordered the chicken fried steak which had a nice flavor but also far more batter than steak, and it was drowning in gravy. I had gotten mashed potatoes as a side and was unhappy to discover that they were flavorless instant potatoes. My daughter had ordered a burger and fries, and while the burger was fine the fries were limp and barely warm. My husband ordered a steak. He found that it was difficult to cut and full of grizzle. When we returned to the motel we discovered that we were still hungry after leaving so much unappetizing food on our plates, and so we went out and got sandwiches. Since the diner trip was my treat I felt that I'd really wasted my money.”

Peyton Place Restaurant
Sep 20, 2009 by Tom
Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1
Food:[1] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[1]

  • Nothing.
  • Everything.

“The staff was unwelcoming, inattentive and rude. The service was slow and grudging. The food was barely edible. This is the only restaurant where I have left a zero tip in many years.”

Henry's Diner
Sep 13, 2009 by Joel Wilke from Burlington, VT
Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8
Food:[8] • Service:[8] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • Consistently good food and classic atmosphere.
  • Bit crowded and the student customers can be verbally challenging families at times.

“Henry's is my second favorite place in Burlington, which still says a lot. It is the quintessential diner with the original dining car at its center. The staff is friendly and just might call you "Hon" if you are lucky. The food is always good and features your basic breakfast fare. The wait can be 15-20 minutes for a seat at peak times on the weekend when the colleges are in session but compared to other places not so bad. Service is quick once you are seated.”

Penny Cluse Cafe
Sep 13, 2009 by Joel Wilke from Burlington, VT
Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • The food, staff, and atmosphere.
  • Longer waits on the weekend.

“I've lived in the area for six or seven years and there is no better place for breakfast/brunch. The food is excellent and ranges from your basics to more adventurous takes on the classics. The staff is more than friendly, service is quick and the atmosphere is lively. The wait on the weekend can average around 40-60 minutes at peak times but it is worth the wait or peruse the Church Street Marketplace for excellent window shopping and people watching. Summers when the students are gone, the wait is decreased, especially during the week. The food is from local providers and consistently excellent. If you are lucky to get a window table the entertainment will pass you by. You never know who you might see eating here depending upon who is touring or vacationing nearby. The Cluse is one of my top five places anywhere. I'm a fan of the French toast on the daily specials board.”
