• Yummy home style food. Great service. Clean, cozy, unique.
• Haven't tried enough of the menu yet!

“I checked out a lot of local reviews, looking for something new in the area and Bassett's popped up as a place that I just hadn't noticed before. So we decided to try it out as I much prefer family owned, local restaurants to the chains that have been moving in over the years. First impressions lobby is nice, clean and spacious. We were seated in a booth near the salad bar and could see that the place is much bigger on the inside than it looks at first. Like many places in RI, it probably started small and grew over the years. The menu is large and not very descriptive so we had to rely on our server for explanations and suggestions. She was patient with our questions and very knowledgeable about the menu. She suggested several of her favorite meals, and we eventually decided on the Chicken Parmigiana and one of their specials of the night, Chicken Gorganzola since her description made my mouth water! You can add the salad bar for $1.00, but we both passed on it and I'm glad we did since the meals were generous portions. Both dinners were very good and served bubbly hot! It was a nice touch and I appreciated the warm food throughout the meal. The restaurant was busy for a Thursday night yet we felt very well attended to even as our server was taking care of several other, larger parties around us. Little details like cocktail napkins, butter dishes, clearing the table of used creamers, straws, etc. And an overall calm, pleasant and polite manner really made us feel like guests, not customers. Service was one of the bad points in several other reviews, either we got lucky or there are some really picky people out there! I'm looking forward to going back and trying some other dinners. There are a lot of options out there and I feel like Bassett's is money well spent!”

• Great food, plenty of parking, good prices.
• Prefer word of mouth advertising and do not advertise their specials and discounts but have a lot of them.

“Fabulous food. The St. Thomas fish is outstanding, the pork chop entree has gourmet presentation, great steaks with sauces, huge homemade pies, good prices, plenty of parking, bar atmosphere is fun and friendly.”

• Not to many positives.
• Was a great restaurant now it is just terrible.

“Have been going to Horton's since I was a little kid, it was always great, but their has been a change. The last time we had take out the the baked fish was very dry, baked potato was undercooked and dried out, and the could not find very many clams in the clam cakes at all. This is upsetting because is used to be a great restaurant. I hope they change what they are doing because I would not go their again and believe me I am not a fussy person. Thanks.”

• Had to wait on a Monday.

“Many visits to basset's inn,never been disappointed with the food or waiter staff! The best salad bar around, actually the only salad bar around, the portions are more than sufficient, and leftovers are always enjoyed the next day. I like wine with dinner and the size of the wine glass are more than I can get anywhere else,love this place, you wont be sorry!”

• Excellent food and service and very clean.
• Parking but worth the time.

“I stop by at least once a week and order for lunch I have never had a bad meal the food is very tasty and the staff is probably the friendliest I have ever experienced. The store is very clean and looks great since they remodeled. Definitely a place to eat at with your family.”
