- Great atmosphere. Good live music.
- A little tight for space.
“My wife and I just returned from a great 4 days in Budapest - what a great city it is too. We ended-up at the For Sale Pub every night we were there. The restaurants tend to close quite early in town so it was really great to have some where to have a late drink and every night was like walking into a party as the buzz in that little bar was great. Its certainly very basic but if its some fun with real nice people go there. (theres' free real peanuts for everyone all night too). If you want the hotel the Zara round the corner is great too!”

- Range of menu, excellent value, good music and atmosphere.
- A little cramped when fully seated.
“My wife and daughter (15 years) have just returned from Budapest. We stayed at an apartment just around the corner from the For Sale Pub. It is a typical character bar/cafe, just like a Western movie - straw on the floor, colts and rifles on the walls. To add to the character it is traditional to attach a calling card, boarding pass, and ticket - just about any memento of your visit - to the wooden walls! There are over 100 dishes on the menu, plus lots of side dishes such as salads, pickles, fries so there is something for everyone. If not, they will make up a meal to order from any ingredients they have in hand. The portions are large. In fact the menu states that the 'ladies and children' can have smaller portions and only be charged 75% of the menu cost. As an example the goulash, good value at 1,100 Ft, is more than enough for 2 people. It fills almost 4 bowls and the bread basket comes with 7 or 8 thick slices of bread. To cap it all, in the evenings there is music provided by good quality artists covering numbers by Sting, Dire Straits, The Eagles and the like. All in all the For Sale Pub is well worth a visit and good value for money.”

Atmosphere:[8]
- Atmosphere, location, friendly staff.
- Short wine list, no longer exceptional cooking.
“There is a very posh looking fine dining restaurant. After my third visit I need to comment. The first two were a culinary delight and the level of both cooking and service was not very far from a Michelin star. The latest was a major disappointment and indicates that there was a major change in strategy or perhaps even ownership. Gone is the relatively long and well chosen wine list, replaced by a completely inappropriate abbreviated version. Not only short on imported wines, also not a single dry fur mint can be found on the list - a shame for such a restaurant. Gone are wonderful experiments of a talented chef, replaced by good, yet hardly inspired cuisine of a more classical kind, without sensory surprises - except for the visual design of dishes. Ok, maybe on a Monday evening there is a team B in kitchen. Gone are gentlemen serving unobtrusively, yet efficiently, replaced by very charming ladies with somewhat lesser perfection of service - though this is hardly a drawback. The bill was not alarming, contrary to my previous experience (clearly a consequence of relatively poor choice of good wine). I do not know what is happening but I am now no longer a fan of the place. Alas, locals claim it is still the best restaurant in town. Mind you, it is not at all an average restaurant, but all of a sudden it is quite far from Michelin or Gault-Millau criteria.”

- It looked so lovely, that as soon as we walked in we knew we would like it.
- It was closed on Sunday. It did look daunting from the outside during the day.
“We had a special birthday and this was the perfect way to end it. The food. atmosphere and service were wonderful and they made us feel very special. One of our best ever evenings.”

- Great people watching and super coffees.

“Best atmosphere along VACI UTCA. Great coffee's and drinks. Wait staff friendly, but lack attention to guests and are slow and inattentive. Prices at Anna are outrageous.”
