• Excellent, tasty real, Japanese food and drink at a reasonable price.
• Decor is nothing special, but it's the food that keeps people coming back!

“This is the best Japanese food I have tasted outside Japan. Alastair from Hitchin clearly doesn't know what he's talking about. It's my favorite restaurant in Leeds, particularly for the yaki soba. (Mind you, I don't want to rate it too highly as I'd never get a table again!)”

“I love Ramen, love it, it's one of the worlds greatest meals in my view, and having read a couple of reviews of this place I was excited to go there are try it out. I'm not bothered by the formica tables or the lack of 'upmarket decor' some of the best places I've ever eaten have been in places such as this (often more basic). Unfortunately Fuji Hiro doesn't know what ramen is, which proved to be something of a problem. Ramen has 2 main elements, the base (typically miso or Shoyu) and the stock or soup which can be a multitude of things, vegetable, seafood, chicken, pork etc. The combination of the two provides the deep falvour that makes ramen so tasty. There is no base to Fuji Hiro ramen, which means in essence you eat a watery soup. The next most important factor is the noodles which should be fresh and tasty. These were tasteless and nothing to the dish. The side dish of gyoza was obvisouly pre bought from the local Chinatown from the large frozen packs you can get there...they are supposed to be filled with a fragrant, light blend of pork and herbs, contain a little soup and be utterly delicious. These were filled be a pre shaped lump of something that looked, and tasted rather unappatising. If you know what good ramen tastes like give this place a miss and if you are new to Japanese food, wait and have one of the best meals you'll ever have at somewhere that does it right. If you happen to find yourself in London and want something approaching authentic (but by no means fantastic) try Ryo's in Brewer Street. Oh, and whoever thinks that A#18 for two bowls of 'ramen' and a portion of gyoza is cheap needs their head examined.”
