“We went to Guidos's for the first time this weekend and it was a horrible experience. We arrived at 8:30 thinking we would miss the crowd and be able to sit down and eat right away. We were seated promptly but had to wait at least a half hour for our appetizer (antipasto and garlic bread) and then had to wait another 45 minutes for our dinner! People were getting up and leaving and some were saying, "we're tired and just want to eat". The waitress (they only had one) kept blaming others for their lack of service and just didn't seem to care. The food was awful to boot! The dishes (we had chicken and veal parmesan) were loaded with garlic making it almost inedible! We are foodies and have tried a lot of places in providence. This was the worst experience we have had and feel sorry for anyone who has to go through it. Save your time and money, go somewhere else.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Feb 23, 2008 by

“It's hard to know where to begin. Quite simply, this was the worst dining experience I have ever had. When we called for reservations, we were told that they had high chairs--but, upon our arrival they had none. Our waitress literally quit half way through the meal, leaving just ONE server for the entire restaurant. The calamari appetizer tasted like boiled noodles with a hint of fish. Our entrees were actually inedible. Not to mention, I never received my pasta that was supposed to accompany the meal. The hidden garlic bread charge was the icing on the cake. The prices were quite high, making this experience highway robbery. By the way, they don't accept credit cards--although this is not posted anywhere.” Nov 15, 2005 by

“This is one of the best restaurants in Providence and has been around for what seems like forever. Originally located closer to Blackstone Blvd. and owned by two sisters. Not exactly sure but believe one sister and husband took it over after a fire destroyed the first location and moved it to Hope Street and renamed it Guido's. BUT the food is still awesome so I hear and plan on visiting come December 2005. Shrimp with pasta is the BEST I ever had. Definitely worth the wait. Not sure if you still have to bring your own wine.” 3 of 3 people found this review helpful.Restaurant Representatives:
