“We were touring Ketchikan in the pouring rain and looking for a quick, tasty lunch. I ordered the fried halibut which was fabulous, and my husband ordered creamed chip beef on toast which came on a huge platter. Service was helpful, friendly and quick. We enjoyed eating is a restaurant that was not "touristy." It was just what we were looking for- nothing fancy, but seemed like "authentic Alaska."” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Jul 1, 2006 by

“The Pioneer Cafe is easy to find, but more of a restaurant for local customers. We met nice, friendly people, shared a table with a young military man and were served more than an ample breakfast. The food was good and so was the coffee. The prices were very reasonable. It was an overall great experience; a great way to begin a tour of Ketchikan.” Restaurant Representatives:
