“My grandmother took me to La Pergola for dinner one night, and was I surprised. The inside resembles a diner. It is nothing special and the plastic plants are always interesting. But don't let it fool you! The food is great! The menu was interesting, and although I've never been to Israel, Greece or any Middle Eastern countries, I'd have to say it looked pretty authentic to me. My mother and I have been there on several occasions and we are never disappointed. Although we haven't figured out yet exactly what nationality they are representing - we figured it really does not matter. It gives you some great Kosher, vegetarian and good ole' meat-eating dishes to choose from. The split pea soup has to be the best I've ever had and their hummus and falafel dish is out of this world. I also had the lamb entree which was so tender. I didn't care much for the borsch, but I'm not much of a borsch eater anyway-I highly recommend this interesting eatery. The prices aren't bad at all and if an entree ($12 to $23) is too much, the soups and appetizers are more than filling! The decor is less than to be desired, but the food and the friendly wait staff make up for it ten fold!” Restaurant Representatives:
