“I live in London, UK but have a home in Lake Mary, just outside Orlando. There is a Fishbones Restaurant at Lake Mary that I have been to many times and found the food, atmosphere and service to be outstanding. I therefore have recommended it to many of my friends. A friend of mine booked his birthday celebration dinner at Fishbones on Sand Lake Rd, Orlando as it was more centrally located for his guests. The whole experience was dreadful. The restaurant was grubby, the food didn't seem very fresh and the service was highly forgettable. I was totally embarrassed for my recommendation and would like to say that it just goes to show how different a dining experience can be when eating at a chain restaurant. I can only assume that they think that the Orlando restaurant as it is situated just off International Drive will attract tourists who they will probably never see again and they therefore do not need to make the effort. The Lake Mary Restaurant is a truly fantastic dining experience and bares no resemblance at all to that on Sand Lake Road and is a restaurant that I will continue to patronize with great pleasure.” Feb 25, 2008 by

“Terrible. From beginning to end this experience was horrible. The a/c in the room went out and after notifying the manager Frankie he advised there was nothing he could do. After speaking with the manager a 2nd time he restated that there was nothing he could do and stated he was ok with the dining environment, nice ambiance Frankie, and way to take pride in you restraint. Feeling that this was not acceptable I contacted the corporate office and spoke to I could tell from everybody that I interacted with that this restaurant is interested in taking tourists money and hoping they never come back. Not what it used to be. Better off going to bonefish for seafood and del frescos for steaks! Yes we paid for our meal on this dreadful evening and we are taking out our mother again to a bonefish for a real seafood meal.” Dec 26, 2007 by

“Overrated in a word that sums it up. Fish bones is the first "nice: restaurant I have ever gone to that used in anything (most are offended if you ask), and they use it in almost everything. Using a cheap "flavor enhancer" is consistent with a place that wants to be up scale, but isn't willing to put in the effort. The food was ok, but I have had much better at a much lower price. Skip it unless you just want someplace expensive.” Jul 6, 2007 by

“I have to say I agree with most of the reviews posted to date. The food is ok. Not superlative, I have had better at Legal Seafood and many other restaurants in New England, but this restaurant was very expensive! Specialty fish like bass, grouper etc were $40 per person. I had king crab which was a good sized portion, but was cold, as was the melted butter, so I couldn't even warm it up. The entrees were served minutes after the salads, which filled the table beyond capacity, and made for a very uncomfortable situation. The service was ok. Again, nothing special. We left a 10% tip and we always leave close to 20% and never less than 15% unless to make a point. Children's meals were overcooked and our children would not eat them, which was more wasted money. My husband had their special 23 hour roasted prime rib, which had a good flavor, but the texture was destroyed from the long cooking time. It's a nice looking restaurant, nice atmosphere. But I would not go back.” Mar 28, 2007 by

“Great food and service. I expected great food and I received it. Thanks.” Mar 14, 2007 by

“My wife and I were looking for seafood and where else would we go, but to a place with the Name fish bones. The food was acceptable, but not outstanding. Likewise the service was not outstanding. For sea bass and grouper, the bill was $85 with no alcoholic drinks. I've had meals for less in upscale restaurants where the waiters wore tuxedos and bent over backwards to help. One doesn't mind paying extra for extra service. Fish bones serve an average meal with average service at elite prices. We will skip it the next time!” 1 of 2 people found this review helpful.Jul 15, 2006 by

“I have dined at numerous restaurants that are all over the map in regards to quality. Several weeks prior to dining at Fishbones, I had the pleasure of dining at one of the top-rated restaurants in Philadelphia. My meal there cost roughly the same amount as my meal at Fishbones did, and in no way was it comparable. Allow me to say this: I did enjoy my meal at Fishbones; it was grilled perfectly well, however, I was shocked when we received the bill and it cost $40! Servers should tell diners what meals cost. I have been to plenty of 4 and 5 star restaurants that do this. Frommers Guide said most entries at Fishbones were under $25, so to get a bill for $40 was quite a shock, especially when it wasn't even one of the evenings' specials. Additionally, although Frommers describes the restaurant as being family-friendly, they did not have cups appropriate for children. My children were given their drinks in coffee cups, cumbersome at best. ” 6 of 7 people found this review helpful.May 23, 2006 by

“Decent food & the Atmosphere was nice in the Bar area. Slow Service & Poor Attitudes of the wait-staff and Hostess. "They seem to move you in and out fast and pack you in like cattle." (Do not get the All-you-can-eat-shrimp, you'll never get seconds and make sure you ask about the prices on the specials if you plan to keep your meal under $50). 12 people in our party and after the conclusion of our meal we were told that Fishbone had a "No check Splitting Policy". After 30 minutes of arguing with the waiter and Management staff about it not being posted on the door or any menu, we were given a calculator and told to split it ourselves. Next visit to Orlando, we're skipping Fishbone.” 5 of 6 people found this review helpful.Restaurant Representatives:
