Research User Reviews for Lamorinda Pizza (1-2 of 2)

“I find immense humor in the review written by the guy and his wife who are self-proclaimed pizza experts. First, a true pizza connoisseur is not born in college. At the bare minimum he is weened on the stuff from a young age, raised in the Midwest or on the East Coast, with gastronomic knowledge of both Chicago-style and New York-style crusts, and he most certainly detests any pizza that is made by someone who believes a pizza consists only of a crust, some sauce, and some cheese. I argue that Lamorinda Pizza is made by, and enjoyed by, people who believe that a pizza is something that is hastily made, sold, bought, consumed, etc., without any appropriate care and love for one of Earth's dearest gifts. Though I cannot speak for the remainder of California, simply put, the lack of quality pizza is prevalent at least throughout the Bay Area, as nothing even remotely approaches the delectable pizzas one finds in Chicago, Madison, Ann Arbor, or New York. These, friends, are real pizza towns. And while I celebrate and admire the healthy lifestyle of the modern Californian, it must be said that she knows little of good, greasy grub. Of course we should assume that in the same state that shuns cigarette smoking - and yes I must use the word cigarette, though typically its usage should be considered redundant - pizza is considered a mystery item. When half of everything one eats is Mexican, Thai, and Japanese, no wonder the comparatively heavy Italian creation (though in old Italy they would barely recognize the modern stuff) is considered by and large too unhealthy to be a normal food. And thus, it is consumed sparingly. Perhaps, from an economic viewpoint, this is precisely why California lacks quality pizza. Where there is relatively low demand (per consumer mind you), there is relatively little supply, and hence relatively weak competition: The perfect group of conditions for sustaining a low-quality product.” Jan 27, 2008 by

“My wife and I are more or less pizza experts as we got married while we were still in college and it was the food of choice. Lamorinda pizza really does make unique tasting pizza and it is very good compared to the chain joints like Dominoes, Pizza Hut, and Mountain Mikes. It is $15 for a large pizza with topping, so it really is a pretty good deal.” Restaurant Representatives:
