  • Best pie in the country.
  • Not the cleanest restaurant I have ever eaten in.

“We discovered Mrs. Wick's on the way to the Levi Coffin historical site in Fountain City. Just off of SR27 on the way to a downtown that has lost all of its restaurants, except one across from the police station, on the way back out we decided to try Mrs. Wicks. This small town diner was filled with elders, floor was not very clean, but service was good. I kind of thought maybe they were short staffed that day. But the pie, the pie was heaven. We tried the Black Raspberry and had to take 2 to-go that we shared with our family that weekend. Everyone wished we had brought more, cannot say enough about how good that pie was. We didn't try the rest, but our whole family will have special memories of the black raspberry pie. What I want to know is where to buy them outside of Winchester, IN?”

  • Friendly small town atmosphere with good food and reasonable prices.
  • Can't think of anything.

“We were traveling from Dayton to Ft Wayne, IN via rte 27 North. Around noon we got off and were looking for a place to eat lunch. Trying to avoid the usual fast food, we saw a parking lot full of cars and knew that this was a local hangout. We went into the restaurant and saw many seniors and older patrons having sandwiches and pie with their coffee. The tables reminded us of Happy Days style Formica tables and chairs. We sat down and a waitress immediately came over and asked us what we wanted to drink. Water all around and iced tea with lemon most of us said. We looked at the menu and were amazed. Bowl of soup, grilled cheese sandwich, and a slice of pie for me and the bill was $5.50. The pie was a creamy chocolate peanut butter with real whipped cream. My fellow travelers had coconut cream and stated it was the best ever. The patrons all seemed to know each other and called across the room. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. They told us about the local pie company and how the restaurant got it's name. As we got up to pay on our way out we vowed we would stop by again if we were ever in the area. If we had a cooler with us we would have bought a pie from the attached retail shop and taken it with us.”
