“Awful business dinner! I reserved the private wine cellar for a business meeting, don't be fooled, the room is anything but private. The room is located just next to the waiters station. Waiters stand around talking and laughing, the bussers empty plates there, loud silverware and plates banging right next to you. There is no privacy, the room is separated from the dining room by a couple feet. The reservations woman is rude and unprofessional. Our waiter was friendly, but certainly not respectful of the fact that we were conducting a meeting. The food was so-so, not super authentic southern, but fairly tasty. The restaurant shows its age and is need of renovation. All in all I would never go back and never recommend it to anyone other than perhaps families or budget travelers looking for an average, moderate priced dinner in the convention district.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Feb 24, 2008 by

“Tourist trap. Second time there, food was so-so (ribs and chicken). Muffins and biscuits saves them from being rated lower, they were awesome. Service was super, sorry the food wasnt spectacular for the price.” Feb 9, 2008 by

“I had read great things about this restaurant. Boy was I lied to. The atmosphere is mediocre. I walked in and was not greeted and had to hunt down the staff who were all talking amongst themselves downstairs. The bread was cold and the service was spotty at best. The main course was tasty but should have come with 5 plates for the price I paid. I was in a party of 3 and needed the check split up. This didn't seem to be a problem for the waiter but was obviously one since there was a 20 percent gratuity added to each check for the trouble. This is no place to go unless you are stuck Downtown with a business expense account.” Aug 29, 2006 by

“The service was awesome as well as the food. The cup we had for our water was made out of metal and boy did it keep it cold :). The biscuits were warm and wonderful, I wish I would've been able to take some home!! The only down side is it is a bit pricey.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Apr 3, 2006 by

“Although the food was good, it certainly was not worth the price paid. Very few customers were in the restaurant. Not a problem for me except that everyone there was jammed into the same seating area and you had people breathing down your neck with huge sections of the restaurant empty. We had to repeatedly ask for refills on drinks and for bread. The bread was never hot. My "biscuit" fell apart when I opened it! "Southern", I think not! After all the buildup about the atmosphere, it was not as good as Cracker Barrel (atmosphere or food) and 3 times the price. Very very disappointed and will not go again.” 3 of 3 people found this review helpful.Jun 26, 2005 by

“The food was ok. I was disappointed because of the change from years past when we went there. It is supposed to be in connection w/ GWTW & I hardly would consider the food Southern cusine. Before it was so crowded you had to wait in line, now when we were there at 6:30 pm we went right in & very few customers. All the servers & manager were foreign, hard to understand & nothing one would expect from something repesenting the Ole South. The food before was several courses & hot bread. Our bread was cold & we were very disappointed. I know it's no doubt under new ownership & it lacks a lot.” 22 of 23 people found this review helpful.Restaurant Representatives:
