“I don't care for Ryan's, Logan's would be a better choice for dinner.” Nov 10, 2007 by
Alicia from Sumter
“We are a family of four and decided to try eating at Ryans again since they weren't as busy as the golden corral across the street. Big mistake! The hostess was great but that is where it stopped. We were seating in a corner and had to take turns getting in and out, no room to eat comfortably; the server asked is we would like rolls and we said yes but never saw them. My 5 year old son dropped his fork but the server never was seen again and so we had to share our forks with him. My husband never received a refill of tea; the rest of us did once. She never came to remove a plate or just to see how we were doing. She did not even tell us her name or smile when she did come to our table to 1 look at our ticket and the 2nd time to refill 3 teas but didn't even bother filling my husband's. (After than she never returned to our table.) I found the food disgusting, the Mac n cheese had a grey tint, the steak was dry, the mashed potatoes were definitely instant and watery, the corn was dumped from a can and barley heated. The sweet potatoes the bar was shriveled up, and so much more. I heard other people complaining at the buffet about the presentation of the food also and their plates too were pretty much empty. When we told the manager of the issues we were having when we left he wanted to compensate our food for next time. There will be no next time, we both refused to ever waste our money in there again. I told him it was absurd that the waitress did not fill the tea when that is all she really has to do at a buffet. He said she has to do more than that, I asked him like what? His response was bringing the drinks, rolls, and silverware and bus tables. My reply was my husband never received a refill, the rolls never came, my son dropped his fork and the plates we did have never left our too small too cramped table. I would strongly advise people to stay away from Ryans steakhouse of Sumter, sc. We should have known better anyways when there was hardly anyone there on a Saturday at 6:30, which makes it even worse that our service was so awful.” Restaurant Representatives:
