“We were excited to visit MG. We were seated in a group of tables for two that actually was like a long banquet table with conversations and elbows lapping over. We split a BBQ quesadilla for an appetizer and it was tasty enough, but pricey for what you actually get. We each had the famous strip steaks with house sauce and when they came out, I was given my husband's medium (very red) and so we switched them ourselves, but my med-well was just as red. So they kindly took it back to cook it more (although I was embarrassed to send it back of course) and then somehow it became a nightmare and didn't come out, so they finally apologized and took my husband's back to keep it warm. We ate our sides of overpriced over-salty fries and Chile relenos (it was ok, but so-so) and then after about 45 minutes, they finally brought the steaks back out and duplicate sides (which they could've kept). They were about the toughest steaks and overly rubbed and slated and sauced I've seen - ok. So we're from Texas, but I really thought this was going to be the best thing I'd ever had. I really had hoped the meat would at least be fantastic. Then we did try the desserts - very pricey again for what you get. Creme Brulee - ok, but again not the best I've had and the cornbread pudding was ok. This was a Tuesday night about 7:30 pm to start and we again were all squished in like sardines. So the place has to get it right most of the time. Guess we just didn't hit it on a night with a great chef. in the background for certain. I was disappointed to the point of being heartbroken for traveling all that way to end up with a meal like the one we had! The server was unhappy with the kitchen, but it surely wasn't her fault!” Jan 22, 2008 by

“My sister and I went to Mesa for lunch, and we are both in our young twenties and the hostess and waitress both looked as us as if we were about to steal something. The bad service has nothing to do with the amazing food. We both love bobby and we will definitely go back again.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Oct 30, 2006 by

“Allowed 1 1/2 hrs travel time for 30 minute tripe and was 45 minutes late for Saturday brunch. I still had a table waiting. Seated immediately. Drinks, water and bread in under ten minutes and the food in less than 15 minutes delicious food, ample quantity and friendly and prompt service. Prices considered reasonable for 5th Ave. Definitely on the schedule for a return trip. Excellent coffee. Visiting from Houston, Texas. Better than I thought it would be. A lot better. ” May 19, 2006 by

“Being a Food Network devotee, I was looking forward to visiting NY on business and having dinner at Mesa Grill. It is an attractive setting and the service was good. It is a bit too noisy for a business dinner so I would not recommend it for that. My Caesar salad was delicious. The dressing was excellent with a little kick. For my main course I opted for soft shell crabs...a big mistake. They were small, clawless and not a soft crab but what is know as a peeler (they had been in the water too long and were beginning to turn back to hard shell). However, the sauce on them was delicious. The dessert was yummy...an ice cream sandwich with carrot cake wafers that my business associate and I split.” Restaurant Representatives:
