“We spent a few days in Maryland to play golf. We had eaten at the Captains Galley before and thought we would try it again. I will get to the point. We were all very disappointed, with our entire experience. First, for a seafood restaurant, the menu is very limited in its choices of fish. Come on folks you are right on the Atlantic ocean and should have several choices on your menu daily. No sword fish, cod, snapper, tuna etc. We were four in our group two ordered Crab cakes, (one the size of a tennis ball) at $17.00 one ordered Salmon and the other stuffed shrimp, Every dish was bland/had no taste and was not served hot! We went with the salad bar as a side dish, also a big disappointment. The salad was wilted and the fixings were limited. Salad is the cheapest thing you can provide. This was way to much for what we received in the way of a meal, nor did we enjoy it. Also we had to wait almost half an hour for our meal and the restaurant was only half full. The Captains Galley II is off our list, we will not return. Please pass this on to the restaurants owners, if they don't do something about changing the chef, the menu and the service, this ship will sink.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Sep 22, 2008 by

“We have eaten at Captain's Galley for over 20 years. Last week we were in Ocean City and ate there 4 times. Never again. We could not wait to eat the crab cakes. Well they were not the usual CG Crab cakes. There were big chunks of some kind of meat in them but it did not have the texture or taste of crab cakes. The tartar sauce is terrible. Kraft. The salad bar was a huge disappointment, salad brown and lumpy and the pasta salad tasted horrible. They raised their prices but sure not their quality. We will stay on the other side of the bay the next time we are in OC and find some other restaurants that are better.” Aug 6, 2008 by

“Without a doubt some of the very best crab cakes I have ever eaten and I have tried them everywhere. The restaurant is just a restaurant as far as decor goes, although it takes on a different atmosphere after dark with the reflection of the lights from the marina in the water. The service is satisfactory to good but not excellent. The reality is I go for the crab cakes. And although the lobster tail costs an arm and a leg, (really) it was the biggest most succulent lobster tail I have ever had or ever hope to have. That said, I eat the crab cakes 95 % of the time.” Jul 16, 2007 by

“My family decided to revisit this restaurant after not going there for about 8 years. First our sodas tasted horrible, very flat. Then I ordered a water that tasted like the water came directly from the bay. It had a funny after taste. I complained and asked for a bottle of a water, then was charged for the water. The salad bar on its own cost around 9 dollars and was the worst I have ever seen. There wasn't even an option of a diet dressing. The food was bland, and not seasoned, and the rolls weren't even warmed. For the price I would stay on the other side of the bridge in ocean city and go to an all you can eat seafood and prime rib buffet. It was horrible.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Restaurant Representatives:
