“Very nicely renovated. Menu nothing special & very over-priced. Had a grilled chicken Caesar for lunch, it was almost $20. The gelato is way over-priced. NYC prices in this one-horse town! The Black Horse Pub in Mendham is better food & better value..” Nov 17, 2007 by

“Just ate there on a sat. And had made a reservation. If you are a couple they put you in a corridor overlooking the pizza boxes. If you are looking for a nice ambiance, as we thought we were, Im not sure how to get it. We looked in a nice room as we left and saw the room with the fireplace practically empty and that was what we thought we would have. Food was pedestrian for the price. I guess we should have order the pizza or a burger. Service was good. Music was loud but they finally turned it down. Was a disappointment unfortunately.” Jun 17, 2007 by

“I grew up going to the Public House. It was my grandparents favorite restaurant. All of our special dinners were there. My husband and I continued this tradition. I was sad when it closed. My husband's birthday was last night. I was excited to see the reovations on sucha beautiful, historic landmark They did a wonderful job; however. The menu was very small and too fancy. It is now very expensive. The wonderful salad bar is gone. The drinks are very expensive. Our food was just so-so. My fish was way overcooked. I do not plan to return to the Publick House” May 2, 2007 by

“Great food, competent and pleasant servers. The restaurant may be romantic during the evening but we were there for a late Sunday lunch. Worth going just to see the beautiful restoration.” Oct 24, 2006 by

“Recently visited the newly renovated Public House in Chester. The restaurant and bar area are very nice, however, the prices are outrageous! $9.00 for a vodka and cran. The staff seemed pleasant and business was booming on a beautiful fall Sunday. We did not eat, but don't think I would because of the prices. Hopefully, they will do well with tourist business as they have restored a beautiful piece of history in downtown Chester. ” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Restaurant Representatives:
