“I live in Youngstown, so the place must be great, if I drive all the way into Kent to eat there. The food is magnificent, and abundant. I have enjoyed the fish, the German cuisine. The Porter hoses, and prime rib (they rate a 14 out of 10 for that!) Their Yeager potatoes, are always our choice! True enough the decor is out dated, and it is an old, remodeled Red Barn (for all of us who remembers Red Barn restaurants), but the food and service is beyond compare! For business travelers, not so convenient not on the beaten path but well worth the effort to divert from that path!” Apr 17, 2009 by

“This is by far our favorite restaurant in the area, it's our 'occasion' place. What this restaurant lacks in atmosphere, it MORE than makes up for in food quality. Great selection of German food as well as great steaks and seafood. The crablegs are like baseball bats and the lobsters the size of small armadillos! The Petite Filet is 8-10 oz.. larger than most restaurants, and an even larger one is available if that is not enough and I DARE anyone to finish the Porterhouse! The prime rib looks like what the waitress brought Fred Flintstone that knocked over his car!! For dessert I highly recommend the Creme Schnitten (when available). The waitstaff treats us as family.. and, if Annie is pouring, call a cab! :)” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jul 9, 2007 by

“Henry's has a great reputation in the Greater Akron area so my wife and I decided to go there for our wedding anniversary. As soon as we walked in we both commented on the condition of the restaurant. The carpets were worn, the tables are far too small and packed too close together, the walls need work and on and on. The overall condition is very poor. They are famous for their steaks so my kids and I ordered those and my wife chose fish. One of the side choices was a beet salad and that is what I asked for. What I got was a bowl full of canned beets. I asked for a vegetable side and got over steamed mushy broccoli. The steaks were absolutely fantastic as expected. They were all perfectly cooked and delicious. When I received the bill I handed the waitress my credit card and she informed me that they don't take credit cards because it is a small family business and can't afford the fees. My bill for all four of us was $146.00. Very pricey. Accepting credit cards provides a convenience and safety to customers. Who carries that much cash these days? Raise your prices accordingly and make the customers pay for the convenience. Luckily we had our checkbook with us. Except for the steaks Henry's was a huge disappointment. Price, atmosphere, food and service well below what good restaurants provide.” 2 of 3 people found this review helpful.Restaurant Representatives:
