  • The selection on the buffet is incredible.
  • Cost too much for a family and is always crowded.

“This restaurant is very, very expensive for a family to dine. We only go once a year for a special occasion. The last time we went was Aug 2006 to celebrate our oldest son going off to Va Tech as a freshman. I believe buffet was $27 per person then-it may be more now. The selection is incredible, and they do have all-you-can-eat high-dollar items such as crabs, crab legs, oysters, clams, etc., but it is so crowded, you have to stand in line to get the crabs or crab legs. In order to get your money's worth, you pretty much have to try everything they have and gorge yourself because you can't really afford to go to Captain Georges more than once a year if you have a large family.”

  • Unlimited steamed crab legs.
  • All the butter and oil in dishes. Very heavy.

“Captain George's is a lesson in over-indulgence. The atmosphere and decor is a bit tacky, and the seating can be very tight. There are a lot of foods in butter and heavy oil sauces, so there is very little in the way of choice for the waist conscious The buffet items are uninspired - nothing out of the norm. And it is quite pricey, significantly more than we would normally expect to pay for a night out to eat with the children. Be very hungry if you decide to visit this establishment, and be sure your gym membership is up to date in order to work off all this very heavy food for the next few days.”
