“It is trying to be something that it is not. It has some nice color schemes and romantic feel and such, but it is momentary illusion. On closer inspection, the blue painted windows are covered in decently laid out designs applied in amateurish strokes. So seems romantic, but no candles, no really interesting lighting or art objects. Instead cutie wooden bear napkin holders. Okay, cloth napkins show some class, and the menu has a bit of variety of tastes, but seems too expensive for the quality of some dressed up stuff just reheated out of the freezer, or not allowed to thaw properly. I have worked in restaurants and to be quite honest, the staff initially seemed polite, but committed major errors. I would not be caught doing if I were working there i.e. asking people how their food is when obviously noticing they have just taken a bite. Asking to reseat you because someone else wants your romantic spot, and then being ignored when you a wave down staff because you are done and need your check. (Was going to a movie following dinner so just wrote a check and left after calculating my own tab). I went on one date previously where my fish was uncooked and frozen; they just heated longer and rearranged my plate. Had I been on staff I would have refurbished and offered a free dessert or tab reduction as a consolation for unsafe cooking. I thought I would give them another try, and am sorry that I did. I will admit the burgers were pretty good as I like high quality beef (and was not about to risk ordering fish again), but the spring rolls were skimpy and the oil not all that fresh. If you want to go to a good restaurant in Los Alamos with a decent atmosphere and servers that are not retarded, I would go to Lemongrass and lime, De Colors, or the hill top diner. The sushi place on main street not too bad, food was good but a bit slow on service not getting food to my date and I very synchronous, even though not busy.” 1 of 2 people found this review helpful.Sep 19, 2006 by
