  • Honestly, the best part is that I'll never have to go back.
  • Everything was bad, overpriced food. Apparently the old Anoka is gone and will be missed.

“The new Anoka is terrible. They reinvented themselves around Aug 2008 as a modern, Indian-flavored fusion restaurant. Gone are the traditional cooking and atmosphere that made them great. The new space is huge and unmanageable, the service is terrible, the food is bland. The chicken tikka was dry and tasteless, the naan felt like it had been cooked earlier and reheated. With their new contemporary menu most of the old favorites are gone, you'll be hard pressed to find many true Indian dishes.”

  • Delicious food and service.
  • I can't go as often as I'd like.

“I feel this is one of the best Indian restaurants I've visited. The atmosphere is fabulous and the food is delicious. It's a great place in the heart of Coconut Grove Miami!”

  • Time to go!
  • Everything!

“What is good about this place? Nothing. Bad ambience, bad service, small portions (too small), in normal restaurants rice comes with your meal. But in this restaurant you are told once your main course has arrived no its separate orders! & on top of it waited 1 hour and 40 minutes for my food and when you ask before hand where it is your told the order has just been put in & to top it all off, they will add a 18 % gratuity surcharge for your food! Ridiculous place, terrible services, rude waiters, very poor management, disgusting taste and view of the food! And of course no chance not to tip.”

  • NA
  • I disliked everything: food, service, and the included gratuity.

“I know there aren't many Indian restaurants in Miami, but this is one to avoid. The service here is terrible. We waited 1.25 hours before even getting our appetizer. The food is eh, not so great. I've had much better food at places that are less expensive. And the prices are too much for what they give you (i.e. rice = $5, your dish doesn't come with rice - are you supposed to eat it with your hands?). Oh, and in case you are irritated about the service, food, or whatever you'll still end up paying the 18% gratuity for the awful experience. Avoid!”

  • Good service, good kebabs .
  • Expensive, food is average.

“I had received mixed reviews about Anokha, but since it was in the grove we decided to give it a try for my friend¿s birthday party. The enters were more expensive than what we would normally pay. Since we weren¿t sure of the quantities we ordered a platter of kebabs as appetizer, 2 biryanis, 1 veggie curry, 1 chicken curry, and naans for 6 people. The curries were decent quantity but the biryani was too much we would have been better off with one biryani. Barring the appetizer the other stuff was average. Having said that I will give an A for the service which we received. The host was extremely courteous. We had reservations for sitting inside, but we decided we wanted to sit outside when we got there and the host willingly obliged. When he got to know that we had a birthday girl he went the extra mile to bring out a home made cake fashioned out of a dollop of carrot halwa with whipped cream and candle. That was quite touching, and that gesture alone made the trip to *Anokha worthwhile I did not leave the place as a big fan of their food, but I had a smile on my face and felt that I had a good time.”
