“I have lived in the Northeast all my life and I love Sushi. I never even knew this place was there. I looked it up one day and decided to take my boyfriend there to eat. Let me just say, it was so good, we went back the next day for more. The food was beyond great and the service was great.” May 4, 2007 by

“I've lived in the area for many years and also in Japan. Despite its relatively small Japanese population Philadelphia has some excellent authentic sushi restaurants, and you Zen is definitely one of the very best. The fish is selected by one of the owners (I've seen him doing it at 4:00 am) from both Philadelphia's fish market and nick and is always excellent. In my experience this place is an excellent value, with very generous slices of succulent fish on their sushi and a variety of flavorful cooked dishes from the kitchen. Dining room decor is dated but authentic, however I prefer the sushi bar - the twin brother owners are very entertaining, often arguing over who is older! It doesn't see the American patronage of some of Philly's better-known Japanese restaurants, but most Japanese in the area are regulars, and in my opinion that's all I need to know!” Oct 30, 2006 by

“I am a sushi lover and have tried numerous restaurants locally as well as in other major US cities. I have even had sushi in Singapore. I believe that without exception, You Zen has the best sushi. The atmosphere is pleasant and cozy and the service is usually very good. But it's the food that will bring you back. ” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Apr 30, 2006 by

“This place is by far the best sushi house I have found anywhere in Philadelphia. It's slightly expensive, but anyone who eats sushi on a regular basis is used to that. Their sashimi is always fresh, and the rolls are delicious. They also have a good number of Japanese Kitchen type items on the menu for the non-sushi eater in your party. The atmosphere is great, although some will be put off by the fact that they have a smoking section. They have a couple traditional floor tables for romantic evenings. Highly recommended, well worth the money.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Restaurant Representatives:
