  • Nice castle.
  • There is no view and the service and food are deplorable!

“I decided to come here for drinks with my wife for her 40th birthday in July. This place is also special to us because it was where I proposed to my wife. However, when we got to the outside sitting area for cocktails, no one showed up to give us menus or take our order. After waiting 20 minutes I got up and asked on of the servers if we could have a menu. Again after ten minutes, no response. Then, an older couple who looked like they were in shock that someone as young as us could even be there, were served menus and had their order taken the second they were seated. I could possibly live with that slight except for the fact that it happened again about two minutes later when another couple was served before us. Needless to say, my wife and I were disgusted and decided to leave. We complained to the hostess who simply said nothing and looked the other way. To add insult to injury, the parking attendant left my car on the whole time with the AC blasted on one of the hottest days of the year! When I confronted him as to why this was allowed he got belligerent and started yelling at me that their were too many cars that had to be parked. Mind you, this was a Saturday night and there was no one else waiting to have their car parked and the restaurant was mostly empty. Needless to say, my wife and I will never go back to this place.”

  • Beautiful stone "castle", great dining ambience.
  • Too expensive and didn't really include a full meal as I would define it.

“I picked this restaurant for a special occasion because of its reputation as a beautiful place with excellent food. The four course prix-fix dinner at $74. A person was way too much for what you got. The portions were very small, which I don't mind at a high end restaurant, but what got me was that with the main course, side courses of vegetables and potatoes were extra charges of $7 each. We didn't order the sides and the main courses looked very lonely on the plates that arrived. I was also annoyed that coffee wasn't included. We were charged $3.50 extra for each cup of (tasteless, weak) coffee and $6.50 extra for cappuccino. Not a nice feeling for a "prix-fix" meal. The bill came to $670. For 6 people. They add in a 20% tip. We won't be back. A bit too pretentious for us.”

  • We liked the decor of the restaurant.
  • Food, service was abysmal.

“Dined at Equus during Memorial Weekend 2006 - Service was horrible. Waiters inattentive, lack of personality, and disinterested in clientèles The wait between appetizer and entry was 1 1/2 hours. The restaurant was not overly busy and the wait staff was more interested in placing the proper silverware than serving courses. The special (Atlantic salmon) was so salty that all three chefs agreed it was inedible. The monkfish was raw and the salads dressings were so strong as to render the salad unappealing. Tea service took 20 minutes to arrive, after dessert was eaten. If one has food allergies, be careful, as the wait staff does not pay attention to diner's dietary restrictions. Portions are small and the prix fix dinner is overly priced. Definitely not a five star establishment.”
