“Teresa's review nearly put us off but having been to de Schmire years ago, I was determined to return to this landmark restaurant on the road heading out to the ocean. Not terribly fussy or overly fancy, charming, somewhat artsy decor. Serious comfort food, European inspiration, well-priced. We enjoyed the seared appetizer and an interesting soup of the day, spicy jalapeno curry cream of broccoli, with the veal and morel mushrooms and a gigantic chunk of halibut ("from the ocean") for our entrees. We were too full for dessert but had the sorbet and crème brulee anyway--the baked desserts might have been a better choice but we went for something light. Overall a really nice date, we came early and the small place filled up with visitors and numerous regulars - always a good sign.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Sep 11, 2006 by
