• Great food from burgers to French dishes.
• Is was bit out of the way.

“The new chef was amazing and uses fresh ingredients. It was not easy to find a reasonably priced restaurant in northern New Jersey and this was one that really gives you value.”

“For all us Northvale we have very little options. I have found the diamond in the rough. This place looks like nothing special, but watch out, Hennessy Tavern has a new chef and he is out of control amazing! I felt like I was having dinner in New York that's how good it was. Listen the place isn't Cafe Grey in the Time Warner building but the food and the prices are awesome! They have a great kids menu too. Don't let the decor fool you there is a chef Rocking that Place and people need to know about it. The Braised Short Ribs, The Cavatelli Bolognese Just like grandma on Sundays, Thai Sesame salad is to die for, Spicy Garlic Shrimp I don't know what to say except delicious. Ladies and Gentlemen get your booties off the couch and get to Hennessy Tavern. Oh yeah the wine list, it is nothing to brag about right now but the chef tells me that not only are they putting a real wine list together but they are hosting 2 wine tasting dinners in Jan & Feb of 2009. Pretty Big Beer list (not a beer drinker but my husband is). They have a bar oh yeah I almost forgot happy hour. They run a happy hour that is crazy! $3 dollar small plates and I am not talking chicken fingers we are talking Spicy Chicken Wontons, Pulled Pork Sliders, It is so cool. We are so happy we needed it desperately up here. Can't wait for the wine list to come out.”
