• Food was ok, tea was good.
• Portions and service was definitely under average. Prices were too high for portions.

“My wife and I love to try different places. We stopped at Mel's, what a disappointment. We ordered the dinner meal, but the portions were lunch sized at best. Our salads came on a small saucer with a very small portion of lettuce and the potatoes were childlike portions. Usually when you order a chopped steak, the steak itself is a fair sized portion but both of our steaks were very small. The service was mediocre at best, they did not keep up with beverage re-fills and were not very friendly. The two small pieces of pie were good with ice cream, but added ten dollars to our bill. They must treat their locals differently, otherwise I don't know how they stay in business. Bottom line, if you're hungry I suggest you go down the street where you'll get your money's worth.”
