“My family and I (7 of us) visited the Mexicali Rose in April of 2006. When we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by a foul odor. Although we were concerned, we convinced ourselves that it must be normal and continued to our seat. We were looking forward to enjoying our chips and salsa, however the salsa tasted horrible and the chips were cold and obviously not home made. Still sticking it out, we ordered drinks. The adults ordered the $10 margarita and were very dissatisfied by the fact that it tasted like sour lemon-aide. The last straw was when my sister-in-law opened her menu and found it covered in food. At that point we decided it was time to leave. I approached our waitress and told her that the restaurant smelled, we didn't like the chips, salsa or our drinks and we did not want to even try the food. She did ask if there was anything she could do to make it better, which was the right thing to do, but no thanks! She also did not argue when I declined to accept the bill for our unfinished drinks.”
