“After reading the great reviews, my wife and I decided we would travel 20 miles to the Laurel Supper Club for her birthday. Too bad we never got a chance to eat the great food, everyone talks about. I asked to see a manager, who listen to my complaint, and then stated that that party had a reservation. Apparently, if you are only a couple and they can seat a larger party, you will be pushed aside. This is the first time I have ever given any kind of review for a restaurant, too bad if was for such poor service and awful treatment. We went to an Appleby's restaurant in Hudson, right after this, and got in right away. We got great service, and after talking to the manager there about our experience, he gave us a free meal. I guess there still are people who give great service and care what you thing about the restaurant business.”

• Needs to be updated, fixtures and walls, no patio.

“We took a drive on Saturday, August 30, 2008 with our destination being The Laurel Supper Club. We had excellent service and excellent food. We did feel the club could be updated, making it a little more attractive with a nice patio built on the back side. Other than that, we really enjoyed our venture.”

• Still friendly, old fashioned supper club atmosphere.
• Quality of food has slipped.

“Sadly, the laurel seems to have gone downhill recently. After enjoying this restaurant for over 12 years, the quality of food has gone down. The prime rib and rib eye used to be top notch, but now seemed fatty and devoid of flavor. The supper club atmosphere is still there, however they now charge for the relish tray. Also, if you bring the kids, don't expect they will get a popover just because you get one with your meal--they're extra now. The wine list is still very good.”
