“I love to stop at the Hickory Log for ribs. I travel to Nashville a few times a year and always make Dexter a stop for food. The ribs are a unique item because of the fire used is real hickory, no gas! The place is neat and from what I learned it has been there a very long time. Someone at a table next to me even went on a tour of the smoke room; I thought that was neat that a restaurant would even take you to their kitchen. I recommend a stop if you find yourself on Highway 60 in southern Missouri.” Feb 27, 2007 by

“We absolutely loved the hickory log restaurant. After spending some time in Texas, we really appreciate good barbeque, and the hickory log delivered. The barbeque is authentic (not the kind smothered in sweet sticky sauce like you usually find in the Midwest) with wonderful smoky flavor. The Texans I know would approve! I got the combination platter with ribs and sirloin; my husband got the pork. The prices were very reasonable for the huge amount of food we got.” Oct 18, 2006 by

“Absolutely the best ribs in the USA! The owner, staff and customers are a treat. It's a wonderful place to eat and folks come from miles around to eat ribs at the Hickory log. I suggested to a neighbor that he try it out and after driving 150 miles to get there he agreed that the ribs are the best you can buy. I had a tour of the smoke house and its very impressive. Just could not find out how he made them so good.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Restaurant Representatives:
