• Chicken is king! Best on the planet!
• Seating can be a little cramped when busy.

“Best chicken on the planet hands down (it's the menu highlight here)! It's not exactly cheap, but you will never forget the taste! Makes KFC chicken look like an after thought! Only drawback here is the seating is a little cramped when there is a packed house, but takes nothing away from a place you will never forget! Charlotte and the gang have had our business since the 1960's, and their fabulous Swedish chicken recipe keeps us coming back. Also included is kid's menu, a small bar, cool and cozy ambiance, and view of Lake Irene. Highly recommended.”

• The food, the atmosphere, the staff.
• They are busy so don't expect a quick meal, but it's worth it!

“My husband's favorite restaurant on earth and it's in my top 5. It looks like a shack, you will rethink your decision when you walk in, but the food is outstanding. There is nothing on earth like their chicken. Yum, yum! Don't be in a rush. Enjoy your time, order a drink, the salad bar is fab, the chicken soup is outstanding.”

• 1/2 Chicken (all white), tater-tots and secret recipe coleslaw, WOW!
• crowed on Saturday nights and closed during the winter months.

“Best dog-gone chicken shack in the U.S.. Been eating at Chets Lakeside Inn for 40 years and nothing compares!”

• The lines at the salad bar.

“Chets is our favorite restaurant in the Alexandria area. Their chicken is sure to please with its light and crispy Swedish batter. Their broiled walleye is also good. Be sure to make reservations, though, as it gets very busy on the weekend nights. ”
