“Overpriced fish market. Looks gorgeous from the recently renovated exterior. The interior on the other hand is that of a beat up old fish market with the smell to accompany that picture in your mind. More of a local favorite that misleads people to be an outstanding eatery. Service is good and very speedy. Soups are bland. Rice is a terrible abomination. Do not order rice. Everything else is quite good though very fresh seafood although hygiene appears to be an issue at a glance. Overall: food is good, service is good but price is outrageous. Expect to empty your wallet, $20 a plate on average. I know it's seafood. But wait till you see the portions. At that point you'll get fed up and write a review. But I feel like I've been frank in this review heed my words. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone.” Mar 29, 2009 by

“The lobster bisque is the BEST around! Not a great date restaurant, but you can't beat the food.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Aug 3, 2008 by

“Spikes has the best seafood I have had in a while. The place is not much to look at, very small inside with bare minimum with just some tables and chairs. It makes up for it with the freshest seafood in Point Pleasant and perfectly prepared.” Nov 28, 2007 by

“From the outside, spike's looks like a dump and the inside is not much better, but this is good! Otherwise more people might be eating there, making a table even harder to get. If you like fresh seafood, you love spike's, just be prepared to wait. Try going on a weekday to avoid the crowd.” Jun 11, 2007 by

“This has the freshest and best seafood in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. It is small and you better hope there is a table available. BYOB which is great gets you a real feel of living near the ocean.” 3 of 4 people found this review helpful.Restaurant Representatives:
