“Our meal there can be summed up in one word: disappointing. The dessert was worse I'm afraid. The Homemade Apple Strudel (made with raisins for some reason) seemed to have come straight from the freezer where it had sat for some time I imagine, before being reheated and served. Instead of a light dry crispness to the pastry layers, they were limp, moist and drooping. The Blackberry Crisp with vanilla ice cream was worse: the sour berries, topped with charred moist oatmeal and elastic (yes, really elastic) ice cream. The waitress generously did not charge for this when she saw we wouldnt eat it. The best thing on the table was the wine which, luckily, we brought with us ($15 corkage). The service was prompt but the waitress had a particularly annoying but apparently uncontrollable penchant for addressing customers using terms of endearment.” Jul 1, 2007 by

“Josephs had always been a must-stop for us in Santa Rosa. I am said to say the food has declined and the prices are way too high now. The green chill had no heat on our visit two days ago. It cost $27.00 plus tip for two adults and a child for lunch. Way too much for the poor quality of the food we received. Adios, Josephs - we won't be back anytime soon. Another part of Route 66 in disrepair.” Feb 17, 2007 by

“The food was mediocre -- we were told the cook was the best cook in Santa Rosa. If that's true, poor Santa Rosa! Hot roast beef sandwich drowned in nondescript brown gravy served on "wonder" bread. No one asked a bread preference of white or wheat. Salad was at least crisp fresh greens. You will be paying between 7 and 10 dollars no matter what you order, so stay with the Mexican side of the menu, not American. One would think at least the Mexican food might be tolerable. Can't order rare hamburger -- so wonder where the source of their meat is coming from? Very disappointing experience. A''.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Aug 16, 2006 by
