“This restaurant is exactly what it is. If you are looking for fancy, hip, or current you are in the wrong place. The service is always good. It's old fashioned cooking; it's what food tasted like when I grew up in the 70's. Aside from the veggies the food has always been good. The pies are amazing, this from someone who thought she didn't like pie. We make a special trip to buy them for the holidays just like my husband's grandfather did.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Oct 26, 2006 by

“When I get a yearning for meat loaf as I like it, I go to The Elias Cole and combine it with an excursion to Highpoint. Just basic on the menu but the standard fare, meat loaf, turkey and roast beef is great. Served with thick white bread, it's like a meal from the 1950's if that is your desire. The vegetables are canned. The pies are home-made. Knotty pine just like years ago. Never had breakfast there but it were just ending and looked good. Limited menu. ” Restaurant Representatives:
