  • The sandwich.
  • That they are not open 24 hours a day.

“OMG, the Coffee Pot is awesome, I moved here from the southwest several years back and a friend took me to get a sandwich and let me tell you, the Coffee Pot original is AWESOME. Something about those onions, they are potent but Delicious. Warn your friends and co-workers that your getting a Coffee Pot cause the onions are STRONG but one bite and you will be addicted.”

  • Fresh straight forward Italian sandwiches.
  • None.

“Classic vintage sandwich shop in Bangor Maine. Same owner, building and menu for 40 years! Small efficient store with original neon light outside. People on a daily basis will get there by 10am and wait in line inside and outside for the great consistent sandwiches. Never a complaint only anticipation of buying and biting into the Classic Coffee Pot Sandwich! Classic Italian Sandwiches are very reasonable prices. People will stand outside in the rain and snow for these classic sandwiches. Its very common for customers to purchase 20-30 sandwiches for the office crew! When you enter this shop it appears tiny, however you can usually put about 12 people in line for ordering. The owner is the director, order taker, cashier who for many years only added up the items in his head and rang the total in an old vintage cash register. Many of the Coffee Pot sandwiches are pre-made right out front for customers to see in their clear wrappers. The Coffee Pot Sandwich Shop has been a regular staple in Bangor for years. I personally would purchase 5 sandwiches on Monday for my lunch for the week so I would have to wait in line. Its hard when you only have a half hour for lunch and you half to drive there. I had my first roast beef with mayo there back in 1981. If youre coming to Bangor. You must travel to the Coffee Pot. They do a huge volume and are only open from 10-5 Monday through Friday. The way its always been. Many of the original employees still work there too. Got to love them. Bangor Maine Coffee Pot.”

  • Local, one of a kind, legendary, blast from the past! The best!
  • Small store, Long lines, no seats, crowded.

“I was staying in Bangor, Maine at a hotel, when I decided to go for a long Touring Bike (Ten-Speed) ride in the early summer of 2000. After 20 or so miles, I was on state street, and I saw "The Coffee Pot" sandwich shop. It was packed with hungry people, so I asked the crowd what's the excitement about. They were very happy to explain to me how the Italian was the number one seller. Sold, I got in line and to my surprise, an older man, said, "one coffee pot" to go. That was the name of the sandwich, "The Coffee Pot"! I ate it down in a hurry, It was the best deli sub I've ever had! I bought a coffee pot coffee cup as a souvenir and stuffed the mug into my bike bag. It was a great day! I miss "The Coffee Pot" everyday. I now live in Dayton Ohio.”

  • Delicious food! Quick service! Great prices for what you get!
  • I wish it were open more.

“My family moved out of Maine many years ago, but we still have extended family that we visit regularly. And when we go, we don't miss out on the coffee pot! We'll go 2 or 3 times in a week. You just can't get an Italian anywhere else that's quite like it. There's always a line waiting for it to open, and it usually stays that way for the couple of hours that it's open a day. The line moves pretty quickly though, so it's not bad. I don't know what they do to those sandwiches, but there's something addictive about them! They're the best!”

  • Great food happy & friendly people.
  • More parking.

“Great food, the place is to small, need more parking, open longer. Like to see a Menu on line I work at a office and we would like to order but with a old menu from 04. I think prices have changed.”

  • The best sandwiches ever.
  • They're only open for a short time during the day.

“Coffee Pot makes the best sandwiches I've ever had. My favorite is the Italian but my mother is a big fan of the Tuna Salad. We go there as often as possible because we know it won't always be open.”
