User Reviews for Seattle Restaurants« Go back to Lacon Travel GuideResearch User Reviews for Seattle (1-20 of 47)Salute
“This is a great place to take a date, or a family of 4. I say that because it is a small restaurant and they do have highchairs, but the space is very small, and I don't know if I would want to take a baby there, in fear of them disturbing others. With that being said, this place has great amazing homemade food. Best Italian place in Seattle by far. Its got a romantic feel, especially on holidays. They make a special menu for every holiday too! The wait service is fantastic, and the they have a great wine list too!I highly recommend this place, and go there often.”

“The staff in the restaurant is fine but the owner has an attitude and it really makes for an uncomfortable experience. Unable to enjoy the food. Feeling rushed, because of one person.”

“The food is ok. If you don't mind waiting forever. It takes about a half hour to get your burger. The people there are so slow the seem to be moving backwards. They will likely be out of fries when you make it to the front of the line. Duh! Go to another shop and don't waste your time.”

“Nice view overlooking the Puget sound. Menu offers a good range of options (i.e. Not just seafood) for the whole family. Good service. A great restaurant to take someone who is visiting the area especially if they dont have the opportunity to see the water often. It has a great view of the Puget sound.”

“Whenever we're in Seattle for a flight, we make it a point to eat here. Interesting menu with great service and atmosphere. Lots of menu choices, and not the usual things that you seem to find everywhere else. Have told several friends about the place and they have tried it too. We all agree it's great.”

“We had a great time. The BBQ chicken was delicious. I can't wait to get home and try out my complimentary wood chips from Von's and see how close I can get. My adult children both enjoyed their meals as well. We also had a couple great martinis from the martini bar.”

“We enjoyed ourselves. The food was delicious and a great presentation. Our server was always there when we needed her and had a genuine smile. I went out on a limb and ordered lamb which was delicious. Their specialty ice cream was the best Ive ever had. I loved the roasted meats hanging in the smoker. Can't beat it!”

“This restaurant is a chain. I have been to the one in Indianapolis. They have spent a lot of money on the decor, and the food is good. However, the service was unforgivably bad. The waiter started hitting on my date when I stepped away for a few minutes. When I learned of it, I tried to complain to the manager, but the assistant manager would not let me talk to him. He defended the waiter by saying the waiter was Italian and I should expect that sort of behavior from an Italian. He accused me of being insensitive to other cultures. I kid you, don't go there.”

“Not the best location, but a place visited by Boeing employees hungry for lunch. Menu had a good variety, so the rest of the family was pleased, too. We went there for the clam chowder and were not disappointed.”

“My wife & I recently passed through Seattle Airport, where we had to overnight. Spencers was recommended. We ordered 12 oz. filet mignon for both my wife & me. To tell you how poorly the quality of the meat and preparation was, would take far more then this allowable 4000 words. It was ordered medium rare, it arrived at the table, raw in the middle. The waiter asked if we would like it done "just a bit more," and we replied "yes" it returned from the kitchen as overcooked, dry shoe leather. The highlight of their meal was the bread and the excellent service. We were too tired to reject and have another steak prepared. A disaster for a premium price.”

“Bonsai Restaurant, now called Imo restaurant is a disgrace to traditional Japanese sushi and even modern Japanese cuisine restaurants. The food is terrible and not unique or traditional, the Chef is rude and inexperienced, and the environment is just trashy! It's like walking into a dirty local bar with scents of puke, urine, diarrhea, homeless people, and old beer. However, they still have a sushi bar inside. It's an embarrassment to Japanese people, Japanese food, Japanese history, and the Japanese culture.”

“I've frequented Sharps numerous times while waiting for a flight to come in, to leave, or after I've come home from a business trip. It's located very close to the airport (you could easily walk). Food is served in generous portions by courteous wait people. The food is very tasty but not "gourmet." The menu is varied for those finicky eaters who have a hard time choosing what they want to eat.”

“I took my family of 5 to dinner to today. The food was very good, as was the service. However we were all shocked at the portion sizes, especially considering the prices. An example is the Alaskan halibut. We definitely won't be going back. There are too many great restaurants that provide a great meal for much less money. The decor/ambiance was nothing special either.”

“Fun atmosphere. Shop at pacific place, then hit Vons for a cocktail. They have the drink wheel which they spin every 1/2 hour (I think). It shows a happy hour price drink for the spin. Very fun! They have a chicken salad on a croissant w/a side salad that rocks.”

“My friend and I got into Seattle late and headed downtown to get a bite to eat. We arrived at Kells around 10 and seated ourselves in the dining section. One of the staff went back to the kitchen to find out if we could still get food and, luckily, they obliged. We started off with some bloody marys which were simple but really good. We each ordered two of their fresh oysters as an appetizer. I didn't particularly care for them even though I love oysters. But the rest of the meal was very delicious. My friend got the clam chowder soup while I got the tomato bisque. Of course we tried each others and I thought they were both a little different but very good. We shared a sausage farl and the beets with bleu cheese crumbles. It seems like fairly traditional Irish food but nothing weird. I really believe anyone could find something to eat here. I guess the only thing I would change would be the price. The meals seemed a little spendy which is why we split something. ”

“First of all the steak was fantastic. That is where the good ends though. We had reservations at 8:30pm, but weren't seated until 9:30. We didn't get our food until 10:10 (we had a babysitter to get back to by 11:00pm so were rushed eating.) No apologies or explanations on the delay of seating and service. No letting us knows they appreciated our patience, no acknowledgment of a problem. Hostess was very rude. I overheard a server say they overbooked. Although steak was great, go to El Gaucho instead. Our sides were OK. Didn't have time for appetizers or dessert. I won't go there again, unless it is a 5:00pm reservation very early.”

“Best meal I've had in YEARS! A total surprise. I had the shish ka bobs. There was more than enough food for the dollar. The meat was tender and tasty, the rice and sauces superb. Their soup is worth the visit (but you have to order a meal to get it). Can't wait to take my wife (I was on a business trip). I'm giving the name and address to all my friends.”

“The food served at El Charo is very close to authentic Mexican food; very good tasting rice & beans. The servers are very friendly & welcoming. Our server even gave us a recommendation to visit the Space Needle over the weekend ~ there was a food festival there. Food is very good for what you pay for. Great Mexican music in the background but needs a little more of the popular Nortenas & Duranguenses that are really hot in the Hispanic market. I would definitely go back & dine there when in the Seattle-Tacoma airport area.”

“Very good Restaurant I enjoyed being waited on by Robert G. (If you ever go, ask for him) The food Was Absolutely great, but a little large. The Lighting was great and the seats comfy, very private. It's a open kitchen, which is great because the chefs do fire shows, very fun. So, It was great. I had a fun time with my friends and enjoyed the great food.”

“If you've been to a Cafe Beignet in New Orleans, you have a high expectation of the Cafe Au Lait and Begnets. This is a sad disappointment to a great tradition. It's not even an actual cafe like you would find in New Orleans for Cafe Begnet. Instead it is wedged in between the info-booth and magic dragon Chinese food in the Seattle Center - Center House. Cafe Beignet should really do the Northwest some justice and give us the authentic Beignets and Cafe Au Laits they give the rest of the rest of the country so we can have a taste of New Orleans here. I'd rather go to Starbucks.”

“I went to meet my fiance for Valentine's Day. The service was unacceptable for a restaurant of that class. We waited about 15 minutes before a waiter came to take our order, and rarely check up on us. I ordered a Caesar salad that never came. The waiter was much more interested in the tables that had 3 people and ordered many drinks. To cap it all off, the bill was handed to my future wife and not myself. I must admit the food was exceptional, but not worth the poor service.”

“Usually the service is exceptionally excellent. But they really need to get rid of the new waitress. We generally like to give a generous tip but today we were perplexed as to what to give. I'm not saying she was a bad waitress but a rude one. My dining companion asked a simple question and received a lecture. Unbelievable.

“The filet mignon was the most succulent, most tender, 3 and a half inches thick, flavorful, steak I've ever had. Absolutley amazing. I would not recommend the peppercorn new york strip. The peppercorn sauce overpowers the flavor of the meat and takes over the entire meal. The service is impeccable. The atmosphere is very classy. Expect to spend around $100 - $150 on dinner for two.”

They were amazing. Then we both ordered an eggs benedict type dish with crab served with roasted potatoes. Everything was cooked to perfection; the eggs, the potatoes, the crab was excellent and the hollandaise sause was great. We ate at all of the”

Triple Door (The) “On February 20th, 2005 on my first visit to The Triple Door I ordered what was called Angkor Wat Chicken. According to the menu it consisted of chicken, spicy black beans, peanuts. It came with baby bok choy and rice. The waiter described it as stir fry. It came to the table so fast I was shocked. The stir fry part of the meal consisted of chicken and almost raw but oily onion and bell pepper slices. The chicken was good but my jaw was getting tired of chewing so much raw vegetable. There was little flavor to the dish. The menu was still sitting there and in looking at it I realized that it had listed black beans and peanuts. The place was so dark it was very difficult to see anything but I certainly couldn't see any beans or peanuts. I had a small flashlight with me and examined the dish carefully. The waiter came at that moment. I asked him if I had the dish I ordered. I shone the light on it and asked him where the beans and peanuts were. He said he would get the manager and disappeared. I didn't want to see the manager. After a while the manager arrived. I turned on the flashlight and asked him where the beans and peanuts were. He asked if I could see the tiny dark specks here and there and said that that was the black beans. If you collected all those little specks you couldn't make a single bean. It turned out that the little light colored particles here and there were peanuts fragments.Again, not enough there to make a single peanut. Why not list salt on the menu. Beside all this the portion was skimpy and they charged $14.95 for it. I told the guy that I made stir fry that is way better than this on a regular basis.”

“If you're visiting, and you like music, you really should go at least once, and try to see a show, although it's possible to spend some time in the side restaurant or back bar without paying to see a show most nights. It's part of Seattle music history, and at this point it's probably not the coolest bar around, but it's still a pretty solid guarantee for good music-filled times.”
