User Reviews for Dallas Restaurants« Go back to Salem AttractionsResearch User Reviews for Dallas (1-20 of 84)Mis Cazuelas
“I am 29 and have been going to Mis Cazuelas since I was 15 or 16. I love the food here. Their chips and salsa are to die for. Their salsa is not too bland and yet not overwhelmingly spicy either. The service is not the greatest but their food is so good that you tend to forget the quality of the service. I like Tex Mex food but prefer real Mexican food. If you want authentic Mexican food, Mis Cazuelas is the place for you.”

“I went to the Knox Street location last week with my daughter. I had been there before and my daughter visits this very location on average twice a week! You would think that in today's economy, a restaurant would greatly appreciate loyalty like that. Think again! I will simply say this: I have never been treated worse in a restaurant and neither of us will ever be going back to any on the border location as long as I live. Their food is alright so I could make the case that I will miss it, but there are so many good Mexican restaurants in this town.”

“I have traveled plenty and have had my share of bad customer service, but this is the worst place of all! The lady served us was nothing but rude. She never asked us for water, we had to yell over to call her. We were the only people in the restaurant so it's not rocket science to figure out that she should have attended us longer. Then, when I needed to pay, she wanted me to sign the receipt exactly the same as on my ID. Hello, not all signatures are identical. We were actually going to leave her cash as tip n no credit card because that's what I always do. But, she just went on and on about how she made our drinks and we need to leave at least a five dollar tip. We left a dollar at the table. I will never go back. I wish she would go out of business so no one makes the same mistake I made and have to deal with her. The food was pretty good, but for that much poor service it's not worth it. Never again! I will run into traffic on the freeway before having to eat there and see that ugly Asian again! If I could give it negative stars it would have at least ten negative stars. But, this thing makes me give it something. This place needs to crash and burn and I won't be surprised when it does with an owner like her, yup, that's right. She was the owner.”

“Very pleasant restaurant, with a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere. Can dine inside a cozy dark space on front patio. Excellent food, extensive bar and friendly, efficient service. Good for meeting friends, dinner with co workers or friends. Will return again!”

“Teppo was the worst sushi I've ever had in my life and I eat sushi regularly. I've had the best most expensive sushi and reasonably priced sushi that was not as near as bad as this and not as expensive. Try Nobu, Ra, or Naan instead, never again I will go there.”

“I was raised in Venezuela and I am very familiar with their food. I was excited to know that I would be able to taste the delicious cachapas that I loved so much as a little girl. I took my husband and kids there and even though the food was awesome, I think the prices were too high. I mean, almost $10 for one arepa. That was too much. Again great taste and the price on dessert is okay, But some prices are way too high if you are familiar with what you are getting and with the low cost of the products if you decide to cook it at home.”

“This place is the most wonderful restaurant I been to. I was treated like royalty from the moment that we enter to the last minute that me and my wife were there. The menus are great lot's of food to chose from steaks to salmon, and the most amazing lobster thermidor and grand marnier souffle I have ever tasted in my entire life. The staff is great they make sure you have anything you need from wine to cocktails. I recommend this romantic restaurant to anyone.”

“We didn't have a babysitter on Valentine's Day, so we thought we'd take our toddler to brunch with us at Dream Cafe. I was intrigued because it's a sit-down, fine-dining restaurant with an outdoor play area. Our son is only bearable nowadays at places like McDonald's that have a jungle gym or similar, so this seemed like a great idea. And it was! The service was so quick and attentive. The play area was lovely. The food was delicious. The prices were not much more.”

“Like many other people, I was shocked by how rude the staff was. You almost feel as if they want to treat you bad in front of your date. I went on valentine's day 2 years ago, and I will never go back.”

“I really enjoyed the pizza appetizer. The house Chardonnay was very good. I had a main course of Chicken and Shrimp Calabrese. It was overcooked (limp mushrooms). The shrimp tasted as if they were just on the verge of going bad so I didn't eat them. The chicken was good. Definitely0 will not go back. Too many better places. Don't waste your time on this one.”

“Very good food, is more than a bakery, is a restaurant also and a very good one. Excellent ropa vieja (a traditional Latin dish of threaded beef). Very reasonable prices, easy parking, easy to find the location. Much better than other Latin restaurants in Dallas. They also have a menu with photographs of the dishes, very helpful for those that don't understand the Spanish names.”

“Challenging to be definitive on this restaurant. Concept and food are good, but, the experience can be really different if you are unlucky enough to be placed in the satellite dining facility. No atmosphere, cold food and a feeling of second class guest, as opposed to the main dining facility which is in general very good. Only other comment is that the Mgr acts more like a gum chewing bouncer than a customer focused business leader.”

“You might find a place in Dallas or anywhere else in Texas that is as good, but you won't find one that any better for Lebanese food. It family run, authentic and the hospitality is wonderful.”

“This restaurant was exactly what we wanted to celebrate our 2nd anniversary. The atmosphere was great and the service superb. The waiter Chris was both personable and efficient. I would definitely return to this restaurant for future anniversaries. The jazz background music was excellent although the pianist/singer was just a bit too showy.”

“Crap service, crap behavior. Possibly downright racist. Went to the TL&C location at 249/FM 1960 in Houston. They left us to sit over 45 minutes after our order and brought out cold, hard bread only after we asked for it at our table; the nearby annoying Mexicans (so loud we had to move tables just to hear each other) didn't have to ask and we could see the steam coming off their bread. Then they brought our steaks out cold. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.”

“Very good place to have breakfast or lunch. The breakfast was as good as I have had anywhere. The food was of very good quality and plenty of it. The servers were like having a family member take care of you. Just down home. If you get a chance check it out. I don't think you will be disappointed.”

“My first experience at Shuck & Jive Restaurant was very unpleasant. I experienced very poor Management and had no since of urgency for the customers. I went at lunch time and most people have an hour for lunch, I waited 40 minutes and I still did not get my food. According to the Manager, the restaurant ran out of about five food items and were running slow. Well, to me that is very poor management and customer service.”

“Very good food! Average, typical neighborhood no-frills dining. The patio is a sectioned-off portion of the parking lot. These people still hand-toss the pizza dough; watch the amazement on the faces of the children as they watch! Salads leave much to be desired, but pizza and pasta is above-average. Really great!”

“The last of the greasy spoons where you can still smell the hamburgers that were first griddled here 50 years ago. It's dank, dingy, and still the best kept secret in northwest Dallas. Nothing organic or New American here. Just plain ol' good food that's hot and tasty.”

“This will be our 2 time to visit this restaurant. We love the food and folks there, however, our visit Saturday night was a nightmare. Our waiter (gentleman named Keith I believe) was absolutely useless to be frank. He appeared unorganized and was actually, very rude to us (4) and the other tables. He rolled his eyes at customers and the other wait staff. I assume he was having a bad day. He was quiet funny but impatient and rude and some times we had to ask him to repeat what he was saying due to his speech. I am sure it was a bad day. It was a little busy at that time. Other than that the food was delightful and we will come back many times. We just will not ask for that same waiter.”

“Went for dinner, around 8 p.m. Maybe that's late for this area; because there were only 2 other parties in the whole place at the time. The food was bad and gave us heartburn (and it's not from over eating, I didn't eat much at all).”

“This is on of the best places I have ever been too their food is delicious the price is cheap and it has a really cozy atmosphere. I have been going there for 2 years and the pizza tastes as good as the first time I bought it. The crust is the best, thin, crispy, and good. I also love their spicy chicken scalloping its a bow tie pasta with sun dried tomatoes, mushrooms, artichoke hearts, and a white wine sauce you need to order it if you ever go I give this place 5 stars.”

“Several years ago I ate at Baby Doe's, but the building is no longer there. The other day, I was walking along the Katy Trail and noticed a very steep road that led down to Harry Hines Blvd. It was Goat Hill Road. I got on Goat Hill Road and walked uphill and found a lot of parking spaces and what remained of a building foundation. It dawned on me that this must have been where Baby Doe's was located. I wonder what happened to the place. Did it burn down?”

“Charlie's is a great place for happy hour and to have a lot of fun. Included are 2 pool tables, a great jukebox, darts, games, free snacks, karaoke and great happy hour specials with some good regulars that hang out. Food during the lunch hours is great. Isn't the most romantic of atmospheres but a fun place to take a date who wants to have a good time. It's dark when you first walk in but your eyes will adjust, and the air works great on a hot summer day.”

“Delicious, cooked fresh to order Thai cuisine. This little jewel box of an eatery is not your typical, predictable Asian restaurant experience. The decor is more like an art gallery with original modern art paintings. It's conveniently located in the bishop arts district, a ten minute drive from downtown Dallas. The cuisine is authentic and the best around Dallas in many opinions. The pad Thai is a favorite as are many of the other Thai dishes. The prices are surprisingly moderate and the portions generous. Open weekdays for lunch from Monday to Saturday for dinner. Nice wine and Asian beer list and the specialty drink is the samurai a heavenly, tropical frozen concoction.”

“Great atmosphere, if you are looking for a place to relax and have a good time, you should definitely check this place out. It is the private lounge I've been looking for. It's not overwhelming with heavy music and people; it has some great lounge music with a relaxing Japanese theme. It's truly a wonderful escape from the crowd.”

The service was excellent also, very friendly. This also a bakery where there is a wonderful variety of breads, pastries, muffins, cakes and pies. Highly recommend.”

“This chubby hole on Hillcrest near SMU has been there forever. The original Greek ownership was still there last time I checked, though the owner took a leave of absence once to visit his home in Greece. It's near the SMU law school on the Snyder Plaza side of Hillcrest, and serves a very good hamburger / cheese burger with extra crispy fries on request. You order at a window and can eat on the premises or take out. It's more or less open air & small. Its offerings are "basics," but with good seasonings and all very fresh. Great place to take kids!”

“The room itself is fabulous. Chandeliers the size of SUVs, painted ceilings that remind a person of the Sistine Chapel, quiet atmosphere. Dinners come with two options, three course, and six smaller courses. Both have a choice of wine or no wine. We opted for the three courses, no wine selection. There were many menu items in each of three categories. All were beautifully presented by an unobtrusive, professional wait staff The appetizer was slightly disappointing because if that was a lobster, so am I. The en tree (sirloin) was fork-tender and cooked to perfection. Dessert was out of this world. ”
