• Great food and great service.
• A little pricey. Meat is cooked rarer than you order it.

“We have eaten there many times. We think this is one of the best places to eat in Coprus Christi. I usually get the Prome rib which is excellent.”

• Waitress was nice.
• Dirty.

“After the waitress set our food down and walked away a roach ran across our table. We didn't eat, but the waitress was super nice and polite.”

• Side salad was ok, 1 piece of tomato.
• Service is horrible, the waitress blamed the cooks.

“I have been there twice now for lunch, about 2 months apart and both times for 4 guests, 3 had spaghetti 1 had ravioli, it took 15 minutes to order tea, another 20 minutes to give our order, then it took over 35 minutes to get our lunch. I couldn't even eat mine, had to get back to work without eating. Will never go there again.”

• Looks a little run down.

“Great food, great history. Yes, looks a little run down, but on the other hand, it has not changed in many years!”

“We went here on a Tuesday night, there were only 4 other tables of customers in the restaurant, and we sat for 45 mins waiting for our food. We ended up getting the food to go because we were fed up with the service and wondering where our waiter went.”

• The food was hot and we did get what we ordered and the waiter was polite.
• Had to repeat what we wanted several times bread, tea, water, check, to go box.

“I love the place and will return with friends. We spend over $50.00 lunch. I was in management and food business for over thirty years, service goes and comes at Johnny's depending on the time of day, amount of people dining in and who the boss for the day etc.”

• The house salad dressing is to die for. The steaks and fried or grilled shrimp are great!
• A little rundown looking.

“A bit pricey, but worth the money. If you like fried, breaded seafood, you can get that anywhere. Truly, well prepared seafood is not fried, but well done costs a little more.”

• Great garlic bread.

“Food is great if you get enough! I paid $18.99 for 4 shrimp scampi, 8 French fries, 4-5 very small over cooked oysters and 1 spoon of steamed veggies. I had to fill up on the free garlic bread. Review: food portions way to small for the price! Make sure you don't come very hungry to this place, its way overrated. We waited 45 min. Then got seated received small salad and garlic bread, waiter came said it will be 30min more so they could push out a large party of food first. When the plate came I thought it was a complimentary appetizer for the wait, wrong it was my order lol could not believe the small portions compared to 2yr ago when I ate at laundries.”

• Garlic bread was great.

“Food was great. Portions are not worth the price! I paid $18.99 for 4 lousy shrimp scampi and 4-5 very small fried oysters that you could only taste the batter, 8 French fries, one spoon full of steamed veggies. When this plate came I though it was an appetizer hah, I had to fill up on free garlic bread. Don't go to this place if you had not eaten much during the day or make sure you eat extra garlic bread. What happened to the large platter of popcorn shrimp and the plates you could get your money's worth? We had waited 45 min then upon sitting for 30 more min, they said they had to get out a few more large parties then they would get to us. ”

• I loved the eggplant casserole.
• I was upset when they did not have the eggplant during the spinach scare.

“The family owned environment is inviting and the staff (includes many of the owner's family members) are so friendly and welcoming. The food never disappoints. There are a wide variety of menu items with unique flavors in addition to the normal Italian fare. You won't be disappointed.”

• Steak is excellent, they make good soup also.
• Furniture is very old, wobbly tables.

“They've got a "dinner steak" on their lunch special that is one of the best steaks in town, and it's just $8. Haven't found a better steak in corpus yet.”

• Everything from the service to the food waitress was great in determining how much we should order.
• Nothing negative at all.

“Visited your restaurant this past week. We are from California and had to call you to ask about what dressing you use on your avocado salad. The person who answered the phone was very helpful and just wanted to say thank you for that and also that the food was exceptional. I have eaten in many restaurants and have to tell you that thought the service and whole experience there (especially the food) was excellent. Thanks again.”

• The old building and stale smell.

“This restaurant was SO good. Best seafood i have EVER had. and thats saying something. i ordered the angel hair pasta with the specialty toppin of jumbo shrimp and crab lump scampi. DELICIOUS. best pasta ever. i have to say the location of it was beautiful i like how they have the restaurant as a boat sitting on the river. a little pricey (my meal came to about 19 dollars after the add ons) but WELL worth it. would recommend to anyone”
