“Great place. Nice decor, great food, great big drinks caipirinha, staying in Brazilian tradition, staff is great and very well spoken and friendly. Amazing ambiance, variety from main course to desserts. Do recommend to all. Not to good for small children. I will return during the winter and next summer, I have eaten in many Brazilian restaurants, but Souzas really kept it to tradition. Keep up the good work.”

“Henry's is my second favorite place in Burlington, which still says a lot. It is the quintessential diner with the original dining car at its center. The staff is friendly and just might call you "Hon" if you are lucky. The food is always good and features your basic breakfast fare. The wait can be 15-20 minutes for a seat at peak times on the weekend when the colleges are in session but compared to other places not so bad. Service is quick once you are seated.”

“I've lived in the area for six or seven years and there is no better place for breakfast/brunch. The food is excellent and ranges from your basics to more adventurous takes on the classics. The staff is more than friendly, service is quick and the atmosphere is lively. The wait on the weekend can average around 40-60 minutes at peak times but it is worth the wait or peruse the Church Street Marketplace for excellent window shopping and people watching. Summers when the students are gone, the wait is decreased, especially during the week. The food is from local providers and consistently excellent. If you are lucky to get a window table the entertainment will pass you by. You never know who you might see eating here depending upon who is touring or vacationing nearby. The Cluse is one of my top five places anywhere. I'm a fan of the French toast on the daily specials board.”

“Great place, food is well cooked. Going back for second visit tonight. Food comes fast and furious, this time I will make sure I say yes to everything and get one giant doggy bag.”

“As you walk into muddy waters you can feel a since of history in the building. It's an old building with all the charm that comes along with that. Comfortable seating with an ambiance that is magical. The coffee is exceptional and the pastries are good. This is a place where you can linger all day long just watching people come and go. Church street is jammed packed with coffee houses but this one is special by far.”

“My wife and are retired and travel to Burlington about once a week for shopping and lunch. About once a month, for years, we have had lunch at Sweet Tomatoes. Satisfactory. I ordered the En tree Caesar Salad with Anchovies and other ingredients. The salad arrived with only lettuce, weak dressing, dried out tasteless chicken and nothing else. I finally got the waitress attention and she brought 3 anchovies. The waitress never returned to check on our lunch. The chicken was too tasteless to eat. When the bill arrived I asked the waitress to advise the food prep ingredients were missing from the salad, the dressing was tasteless and chicken inedible. I didn't see anyone who appeared to be a Manager to report my disappointment.”

“Souza's is definitely a different dining experience. It is little small but the decor is colorful, and its size adds to its energy. The ambiance I would describe as "active" and busy. While my wife and had gone there to celebrate our wedding anniversary, I would not describe it as romantic. However, it certainly is memorable and not only do I not regret going, i would recommend it for someone wanting to try something unique. Children are welcome, but I would not really describe it as family-friendly because the atmosphere is a little mature and the space too tight; if your kids are brats, doesn't go here. It certainly isn't cheap but while it is pricey you will eat well and the concept is worth paying for. The food was overall good to very good; there were a couple of stand-out items like the opening of bean soup, the roast lamb, and the grilled pineapple, but the sirloin tips were really tough and the fillet mignon a tad overdone. They service was average; although the staff were knowledgeable and friendly they seemed to be stretched a little thin; I think they would have done better if they were not understaffed. I recommend reservations, although they didn't give me the kind of table I had asked for when I called; instead of giving me something on the side we ended up in the center where the traffic was. By the way, the place was absolutely freezing. Overall if you go with a desire for an interesting evening and good food, you will enjoy yourself.”

“Great place to stop if you like Mediterranean pita and do not mind a hands on approach to good food. Not the best place to sit and eat but that gives a good excuse to grab your food and enjoy it in the park or on Church St. Never had a bad experience.”

“Henry's is probably my favorite breakfast restaurant of all time, and Iżm a breakfast kind of girl. Sometimes there's a wait which can be tough if you're standing outside in the middle of winter in Burlington, but tables move fast, service is great, and food is amazing. Food comes out so fast it leaves your head spinning, huge portions, great value for your money. Definitely a must-see if you're in the area!”

“I have been going to bove's since 1966 when I went to Champlain business college. Every time I go to Vermont - I make it a point to go and bring friends - we all love everything about bove's. I used to be part of the Wednesday crowd! Glad you are still alive and well.”

“The best breakfast in town! Wide selection of pancakes (buckwheat, blueberry, pumpkin, and other more unique breakfast fair (the Zydecko was a Cajun bean, sausage, egg and cornbread surprise!)”

“Coffees, teas, juices and assorted other snacks and beverages. Wonderful lemonades -4 flavors. Atmosphere suitable to long lingering conversations, and comfortable gatherings. Some sat reading books, others working on computers or in conversation. A perfect coffee house.”

“Five Spice Cafe is exceptional. The food is great, and there is a great variety for vegetarians to choose from. Though many of the items on the menu are common (chicken vindaloo, and other Eastern fare), the taste is decidedly not common. We loved the food so much, we went back, and it was just as good the second time around. The one big negative about the place is that the owner is a bit over zealous and it was a bit tedious trying to be polite to him, while at the some time trying to carry on a conversation amongst ourselves. He's quite gregarious and justifiably proud of his restaurant. If you're traveling solo, or enjoy meeting local characters, this is an excellent choice.”

“Cheap diner food at its best. Al's French Fries is an old fashioned diner where you can eat all of your fried-food favorites like corn dogs, sausages, hamburgers, onion rings, fried cheese and, of course, French fries. It's almost like a trip to the summer fair!”

“I found Souza's to be surprisingly good! If you go, be sure to go hungry. One price covers all of your non-alcoholic beverages (including choice of guava, mango or cashew juices!), appetizers, entrees and desserts. Just as you finish one food, your waiter arrives with something new to try. When it's all done, you are invited to have seconds of anything you've enjoyed. Souza's is not just food, it is an experience. The grandchildren were excited to try so many new tastes. I didn't count, but I would guess that we had more than 20 foods to try. Most arrived brandished on skewers. It was fun for my grandchildren (ages 8 & 9), my daughter and son-in-law, as well as me and my wife. The conversation flowed and everyone was eager to defend their favorite food as "the best one so far". ”

“I spent 12 days in Burlington on business. We ate at a different restaurant every night. The Daily Planet had the most delicious food in town. I never would have guessed it by the exterior. I still can taste my dish, and its been 3 months!!”

“I have visited other Brazilian restaurants but one never like this. The serving of the food was unique having each portion of the meal offered directly at the table. Everything tasted great and the service was good. I felt the servers (besides who I thought was the head server) didn't know to much about the food though so that was a little disappointing. But they were still friendly and attentive. Only reason I would not rate family friendly is it is a long (over an hour) meal. We brought our child and it was hard to keep him amused for so long. Even though the staff was very accommodating to children, I would recommend keeping the kids at home.”

“This past Thursday, my wife and I decided to try a little lunch at "Three Tomatoes Trattoria". Located on the center of Church Street it is so close to the hustle and bustle of the small city but is tucked away into a basement setting that removes you from the commotion of the street. The atmosphere is very cozy and warm. The brick oven was a unique sight. I must say that the food was absolutely fabulous. Karen's lasagna was gorgeous. It was cooked right in the big wood fired oven. The serving size was actually more than she could eat. I had approached the saute chef, Corey was his name, and asked for his suggestion as to what was the best thing on the menu. After he asked me a few questions about my personal tastes, he recommended that I try his "Chef Special" spicy chicken saute. It was the most perfect pasta dish I have ever had. There were mushrooms and tomatoes floating in a wonderful spicy butter sauce with a perfect amount of garlic. Even the penne pasta was cooked to perfection. The price of our meal was very reasonable and our waitress was very friendly and attentive. If I lived in Burlington, I would certainly be a regular at this restaurant. ”

“The food was non-stop, and it was delicious. The service was the best we've ever experienced anywhere in the world. Food items were explained, the meats were freshly prepared, desserts were refreshing. The price was very, very good. We couldn't believe how empty the restaurant was (it was early in the evening), but that is due more to location and the fact that it was Mardi Gras in downtown Burlington and not Carnival! ”

“I had never been to a Brazilian restaurant before and was totally amazed, entertained, well fed and would go back any time I get to that area. The food was overwhelming in volume and taste. The staff explained what each item was and couldn't be more friendly or helpful.”
