User Reviews for Amarillo Restaurants« Go back to Baltimore HotelsResearch User Reviews for Amarillo (1-11 of 11)Country Pride Restaurant
“This is a restaurant that has been there forever! Out of the way, you have to remember it, but it's worth it. Reminds me of the old diners in the movies, but the food is very good. Enchiladas, the way they tasted back in the old days served in the metal plates, Chicken fried steak, the way mama made it at home. Atmosphere is just down home, nothing fancy.”

“I have been going to David's twice a year on a cross country drive. The steaks are dry ages, and so tender you can cut it with a butter knife. They are always done to perfection. The rolls are to die for, and the blueberry muffins were always yummy. They have done away with the muffins, but that's okay. The restaurant doesn't stand out and is off the beaten track. On one trip it was so important for us to eat there that we almost got a speeding ticket. We called and tell that we were on our way in. We had three perfect dinners waiting for us when we walked in the door 5 minutes to closing. I can't imagine anyone that would go out of their way like that. This restaurant is worth a long 2 day drive from California to eat! Oh yeah. The service is top notch too. If these gals served any faster they'd need roller skates!”

“BBQ plate was very good and my children loved the ribs. It is a place we stop at whenever passing through Amarillo. I don't think anyone would be disappointed in the food or service. And the prices are what you would expect, a good value. Watch out for restrooms, it is in great contrast to main dinning room decor.”

“I got introduced to MI Thai a few years back and I was amazed at the food. The placed had a bit of a run-down feel to it, but the service was very nice, and the food was extremely tasty. The prices are quite good, about 6 bucks for the lunch menu items (includes egg roll, fried or steamed rice, and big en tree). My favorites were the angel noodle, and bankers specials. I introduced my mother (who hates eastern dishes) and she goes now quite often. The service is sometimes spotty (mostly because the waiters are handling so many tables) but I have never had a rude waiter. I go often, and like it quite well.”

“Way to expensive for the service. And then you pay a tip if you want to or not. Charge 18%.”

“We have eaten at David's probably 10 times over the past few years; It has progressively gotten worse instead of better. If I go there again, I will only go when I can afford the fillet mignon; they have always been fantastic! I ordered a rib eye last time and it was so tough I could barely chew it. The restaurant is too dark and too cold and the tables are too crowded. The servers are nice and friendly, down to earth (like Cracker Barrel's servers usually are). ”

“My husband and I had our valentine¿s dinner there the night before valentines day and it was the worst dinner we have ever had. We had the rib eye steaks and neither in of us could ever chew it. It was as tough as Nails. They were nice enough to reorder our steaks and the next ones were only slightly better. They had no taste whatsoever. Our baked potatoes had way too much sour cream on them. Needless to say it pretty much ruined our valentines evening. The steaks were expensive and I for one will never go back. They were voted the best steak house in Amarillo for 2006. I don¿t see how. I can Name 2 other steak houses that would put David¿s steak house to shame.”

“Kabuki is our favorite place to splurge in Amarillo. The food is always delicious. The presentation is entertaining. The atmosphere is exciting. It's a great place to feed the whole family on the lunch menu or to take time out for just the grown ups on the evening menu. The price is a bit high, but the portions are huge and the actual restaurant is an experience in itself. We even buy their gift certificates as Christmas gifts for our family who live there. We've had other Japanese steakhouses but Kabuki is our favorite. We try our best not to miss Kabuki every time we visit!”

“Absolutely everything on the menu is delicious. It is such a tough time deciding what to order. The clientele is mostly made up of regulars.”

“Sure it's not the best steak in Texas. You didn't expect it to be did you? This place is about the atmosphere. And from the cowboy band and the cowboy hat and boot wearing wait staff, you'll love your meal at the Big Texan.”

Joe'S Crab Shack “The food is good and not TOO expensive. The wait is long, and the atmosphere is noisy. Apparently, there is no noise insulation anywhere. Every so often, the waiters break out in a conga line to keep the kids entertained. NOT romantic!”
