User Reviews for Provo Restaurants« Go back to Alpharetta HotelsResearch User Reviews for Provo (1-10 of 10)Joe Veras Mexican Fiestaurant
“This is a great place for all occasions. I've been there with dates, for business lunches, and just for the heck of it by myself. The owners, chefs, and servers are all very friendly. Try "El Bandido" or the sizzling fajitas. In the mood for something lighter? The salads are huge and quite tasty, even though the ingredients are all pretty standard.”

“Best diner around. Awesome burgers, great fries, great shakes.”

“This is the worst diner around - you can't even call it a restaurant. They do not take care of their customers, their food isn't very good, and it is way too expensive. Before you think I just had one bad experience, think again. I've been multiple times, and have been steadily disappointed. I'll never go there again. My recommendation: Stan's Drive-In over by Gold's Gym in Provo. Better food, better service.”

“I actually worked at Stan's for a little over a year. I never got tired of the food and often crave it now that I've moved away from the area. The chicken wrap is my favorite, w/ the fries coming in at a close second. They have Iron Port soda, which I'd never heard of before working there, but allot of people really like it (it's basically a maple-flavored soda)! Their shakes are WAY better than The Malt Shop across town, and the prices are similar. The portions are pretty big, so you definitely get what you pay for! I stop in every time I'm in the area - I can never get enough!”

“I work there as a dishwasher, so when you eat there, don't order allot of food!”

“I had a wonderful time there. She made the experience eating at the restaurant very enjoyable. She is a delightful young lady. We will come back again. The food was excellent.”

“The food at this restaurant is amazing! It's just the service that leaves you with a quizzical expression by the end of the meal. The gangs of urban youths that serve you in this restaurant aren't your typical bright-eyed aim-to-please servers. They'll seat you when they remember to, appetizers are brought out either with or after your mean, or not at all (the eda mame are delicious, but get used to making them dessert). And make sure that you've left yourself a good hour to hour-and-a-half block of time, because coming to get your order, bringing it out, and bringing you a check will usually take awhile. They are courteous, however, and they do want you to have a good experience there, they're just not always on top of normal restaurant etiquette. The food, in my opinion, completely compensates for any lack of service, and if you go on "sushi Tuesday" the discounted prices make the entire experience worth it. So if you want dinner "and a show," go for the food but stay for the mystifying service.”

“the atchafalaya is a great night club in the provo area with a lot of cool paintings that make a great atmosphere. the last time I was there they had totally remodeled the club with four or five projectors with a vj and a new sound system. Lots of ladies and a good dj for music. Best time to visit weekends with dance floor hoppin and karaoke in the back.”

“The food is amazing, expensive, but amazing. Thus, it's probably a place you'd go every once in a while to celebrate an important event. The food is cooked at your table and the chefs provide a little show for you while they prepare the meal. As they prepare a few things at a time and there may be up to perhaps 8-10 people at the table (the reason I call it family-friendly), you will eat as they finish cooking the rest of yours and others' - meals. This means that you aren't sitting around too long waiting for your food and your food is hot and ready when you get to that part of your meal. My husband and I went there last year for my birthday, not knowing what to expect and spent about $50 on a meal-for-2 containing a variety of delicious gourmet foods, including filet mignon. (Though there are things on the menu you can get for cheaper. We just decided to go for it.) We were stuffed by the end, but I think we finished most everything on our plates so there wasn't anything to also bring home. I have never been a business traveler so I don't know how to rate that question.”
