• Food poisoning!

“I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone! We were 25 people in total. The service was poor, we only had 1 waitress. It took an hour just to get our drinks served. Then over an additional hour to get our food served to us cold. I discussed my concerns with the manager that night, just to have it excused to us having 2 additional people attending the reception. The following day we were violently ill with massive stomach craps, projectile vomiting and diarrhea. People who did not get sick, either did not eat or were children eating chicken nuggets. After calling the restaurant and notifying them of our dissatisfaction, the manager that I spoke to accepted no responsibility and made no attempt at mending the situation. Again, as previously stated, I would never recommend this restaurant. Nor would I ever eat there again!”

“Horrible food. Fettuccine was the most bland thing ever. Meatloaf was dry, chicken was tasteless, and potatoes tasted like they were from a box. Do not go and the service was slow and they were rude.”

• No negatives on this trip.

“We went here the first week of December 2007. I'm not a big seafood eater so I usually just order flounder and hush puppies. Our waiter (who was wonderful) suggested that I try a combo platter and I was so glad he did. The flounder was small and had little taste BUT the salt and pepper catfish was so good that I couldn't believe I was eating catfish (which I normally do not like), so the food in all was really tasty and their iced tea was some of the very best I had ever had. Our waiter told us he had made it that day! Plan to go back again.”

• Building good, food and service terrible.

“My husband and I came to Gatlinburg for our fourth wedding anniversary. I am so sorry that we chose Linebergers. Not only was it very expensive, but for high quality seafood we would pay it with not problem, but it is not great quality seafood. Our meals was served just a few minutes after our appetizer and then our waitress said well I can put it back under the hot lamp. So it was take it now or wait and let it sit. So we went ahead and took it, it was greasy and barely warm. Bland, cold seafood, poor service made our anniversary not romantic at all, we will not go back and neither will any of our family and friends.”

• Nothing really if you can control your own appetite-huge portions.

“Some of the best pizza and salad anywhere. And the portions-a tip here is to keep everything small as they don't know the meaning of enough. It's so good you force another slice on yourself even when you're full to the hilt. Definitely a place to go whenever you're hankering for great pizza.”

• Steps for those who have trouble climbing.

“We have been going there since it opened and, at first, it seemed they'd never get their servers trained. However, the food and drink were so good that we kept going back in spite of questionable service. Now they have it all under control and seating, service and especially the food is just great. Couple that with some fine micro brewed beers and it's a definite stop every time we're in G town.”

• Clean restrooms. Very full for only $7!
• Chairs not very comfortable.

“This restaurant looked familiar when I pulled in the parking lot, I think there might be more. They serve a wide array of hamburgers (which are delicious!) and various other sandwiches. The fries seem best when piping hot! Try the sundae for desert, it's not real ice cream but very good! They tend to put Mc in front of everything, this seemed like a cheesy gimmick.”

• Stuffed mushrooms were good and so was the shrimp.
• Catfish was gummy & bland; flounder was skin with no meat.

“Horrible food and very expensive, not worth the money at all. Plus the waiter only pointed out the $30 dishes, plus it was freezing in there maybe they could save on the a/c bill and serve better food and larger proportions. We will never go there again, it was the worst and most expensive meal we had in Gatlinburg. Stay away.”

• The location is nice but there is too much construction.
• Quality.

“This place used to be a great! My date and I ordered the surf and turf. We got some anemic (and chewy) crab legs and a slab of sauce with some meat substance underneath. The prices seem to be higher than I remember. I figure with the price increase and the poor quality of food, this place has obviously fallen on harder times.”

• The atmosphere and the food was great cant say enough.
• None what so ever.

“This was by far the best restaurant I have eaten at in a long, time my family absolutely loved. We really can¿t say enough about the food and the atmosphere. This really is a hidden gem in the smokiest.”

• I wish there were more tables.

“My father suggested that we try this restaurant while on a recent trip to Gatlinburg. He said that he ate there years ago (it has been continuously operated for many years) and has made it a regular stop on every visit. The food was outstanding. This is one of those restaurants that not many people know about, but has such high scale food that you'll be surprised that it isn't a much more advertised place. It is small, only about a dozen tables, but usually busy. There is a crab soup or bisque (I don't remember what it is called) that is incredible.”

• Kids eat free if they eat macaroni. Conveniently located. Didn't have to wait for a seat.
• Food was below average. The staff was rude and obnoxious, and verbally abusive.

“We didn't have to wait for seating. The food came out fast. The restaurant seemed to be clean. And that's about all the positive things I can manage to say about Legends By Max. The manager acted like someone who had never been out of her trailer before. The server wasn't quite as refined as the manager. I eat out constantly, and have eaten in dozens of cities, but I have never, no not once been treated so poorly. If you're thinking of going there, don't bother. There are lots of very fine restaurants in Gatlinburg, but Legends By Max is not one of them. You'd have a better experience if you stopped into a convenience store for supper.”

• Dance floor is too small.

“We were there in February 2006. We had no idea that we were about to have so much fun. The DJ and waitresses were so nice and called us by our first names. We will definitely be back.”

“Great food at a reasonable price, large sandwiches at baskin's square on the parkway in Gatlinburg across from the pancake pantry. They also own the two restaurants at tanager center in Sevierville.”

“My husband and I went here late at night and it was a pretty happening place. We had lots of fun, met alot of nice people and they even have a small dance floor! Don't miss out on this place if you want to let down your hair!!”
