Applebee's
Apr 1, 2009 by Ashley from Boiling Springs.

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8
Food:[8] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • Great staff.
  • Too much to choose from.

“Great service! The food was okay, the same old stuff at every Applebee's but at least my steak was cooked right this time! The people are very friendly, from the moment you walk in the door to the second you leave.”

  • Wonderful food and atmosphere.
  • Can't go often enough.

“The service was great. The food was superb, cooked exactly like we ordered, from picking your own perfect slice of beef to the wonderful sides. We loved it and will return here soon.”

Shogun Japanese Restaurant
Jul 30, 2008 by Angela from Spartanburg

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Filet, Shrimp, Shrimp sauce and less people at the table.
  • None.

“There are those who prefer Kanpai, (not sure how to spell it) or Shogun's. I prefer Shoguns in the Upstate area. The portions are great. I always upgrade to the Filet. I prefer the way they spice the food (or don't) compared to the others. I also prefer the shrimp sauce at Shoguns.”

Shogun Japanese Restaurant
Feb 21, 2008 by Toni from Spartanburg

Overall Rating: 6 User Rating Score: 6
Food:[7] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[7]

  • Steak was tender, service was fast.
  • Rice was flavorless and veggie portions skimp.

“This was my first and last time for Shogun. Food does not compare to Kanpur. Fried rice had much less spice, no egg, green onion, nor flavor. I ordered steak and mushroom, my husband ordered a lesser price steak and chicken. He got the rib eye just like me, mushrooms (as did the rest of the table) plus chicken. I only got the rib eye. What did I pay extra for again? I am so disappointed, I should have stayed with my tried and true Kanpur of Tokyo!”

Applebee's
Feb 21, 2007 by Vern

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1
Food:[1] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[1]

  • The manager negated my bill.
  • The service and integrity of the wait staff and chef are lacking.

“What a terrible experience. I ordered hot wings, and they brought wings which had first been glazed with barbecue sauce, then covered in hot sauce to disguise the mistake. Then the waitress lied about it and tried to cover it up, but finally admitted what had happened. - When you can physically see two different sauce colors, it¿s fairly obvious -.”

Shogun Japanese Restaurant
Sep 25, 2006 by Donna from Lyman

Overall Rating: 5 User Rating Score: 5
Food:[5] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[1]

  • Scallops were good.
  • Atmosphere was terrible.

“This was my first time to this restaurant. The restaurant itself was not very big. The decor was very plain. Did not really feel like I was in a Japanese restaurant, compared to a great restaurant in Greenville called Myabi's. Instead of playing Japanese type music, they were playing Lynard Skyward. The meal started with a small cup of onion broth, a small salad that was only chopped lettuce with dressing. Then you get a huge portion of fried rice, grilled veggies (mostly onions), and then your main entree. For desert you get a small scoop of sherbet. My entree was Scallops (7) with broccoli. The cost was $17.95. That is with water to drink. The waiter wasn't entertaining while cooking like most are. He had rice everywhere I would not recommend this restaurant! ”

Shogun Japanese Restaurant
Aug 19, 2006 by Marie from Spartanburg

Overall Rating: 7 User Rating Score: 7
Food:[10] • Service:[7] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • I like the entertainment while you eat.
  • The only thing that I would say is that you cannot choose your cook. But I'm picky like that.

“I love going to Shoguns it is a great experience for everyone. You get great food and entertainment all at one place. And you can go there to party or for a family outing. No matter what the occasion is I believe that you will have a wonderful experience. ”

Kanpai Of Tokoyo
Feb 14, 2006 by Nikki from Union

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8
Food:[8] • Service:[6] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • Preparing the food at the table and the chef's talents.
  • Sitting with a group of people you don't know, not very romantic.

“Great food! Love the atmosphere, they cook the food right there in front of you and the chef puts on a little display of his cooking talents. The dinner meal is approximately $20 per person and the lunch is approximately $7 per person.”
