“All of the servers, bartenders, and the owner are very friendly! We also go there for simple dinners. St. Patrick's Day is great fun although the bar area is small for a big crowd.”

“They did not like food being sent back (under cooked), waited too long for a drink and was not asked if they needed freshening until desert, some staff was rude, veg was not what they informed me it to be, then I was advised that I shouldn't have been told what it was at all, I advised as I was eating and paying for the meal. I feel I should know what I would be receiving in case I was unhappy with the selection so I could change the order. All in all if you dine out, as often as we do, and expect a courteous, polite and decent standard of service then this is not the place.”

“The crust isn't too bad, but the sauce and cheese are nasty. Never again.”

“I say that the restaurant is family friendly as well as romantic because there are 3 separate dining rooms. For the real romantic there is a terrace with about 4 tables and beautiful tree coverings and fresh flowers surround the terrace. Last week I had a lamb shank as my entree. I do not know of another rest. That serves this enter. It was superb. My dog Freddie was also pleased by the bone. Granted the lamb shank was a special for the evening. The rest has at least4 to 6 specials and that is the major reason why I frequent the rest.”

“Marrone's pizza is the best - light and airy crust, sweet sauce and real cheese that is not grated but instead sliced. Their pepperoni is small and a bit spicy. Order the small pie, not the large as the crust and consistency is better. Their drink selection is also varied. One last tip - bring cash - they do not take credit card.”

“Best pizza ever. Thick crust but crispy fire oven bottom. I eat a whole one easily, and they are big pizzas.”

“It was lovely, I had a great time. I would suggest it to almost anyone, except the starving college student. But the food and service was fantastic.”

“If you think you've had good pizza before, think again! They have been open for 60 years and I regret that I haven't had their food before. Absolutely Positively the best pizza I've ever had.”

“This two-storey restaurant in an old bank building consists of a balcony and mezzanine both overlooking a "fern bar". The atmosphere is established by the fresco-like wall paintings and well placed mirrors. The wine list is both varied and limited. The waitperson delivered my daughter's Caesar salad as though it were a separate course from my pollo verona. She had ample opportunity to stare at the only thing she had ordered. She did not comment on the salad. The waitperson offerred a cabernet when I ordered a glass of the house red. The chicken had sparse amounts of artichoke and red bell pepper. The pepper was overcooked. The sauce was mild and uninteresting. There were many families and students on a budget present.”

“My husband and I were there for Paddy's Day one year (2005) and had a terrible experience. It had to do with one of the bouncers. Two brothers who were in our company had started arguing between themselves and because of us being Irish - meaning from Ireland, and being in their vicinity, my husband was grabbed in a choke hold from behind by the bouncer. He was then dragged outside and strangled unconscious on the side walk. We had nothing to do the the argument & never caused any trouble while in there, but we were unfairly targeted because we are Irish. We never pursued legal action because he was an off duty cop & we were afraid of police harassment- even though we are both legal. Lower Merino Police refused to do anything about the incident. This is not an Irish friendly bar, even though it claims to an "Irish Pub." Watch your back there, you don't know who's standing behind you! P.S. This bouncer wore a bright orange top on St. Patrick's Day.”

“Unfortunately I had a not so pleasant experience, and in fact, I will not go there again. It could be a gay bar of Ardmore that no one knows of, because, I think the curly headed, brown haired bartender, was hitting on every guy in there. Can't remember his name, but be careful if you are hetero! Have a great time!!!”
