“The guy that owns the place is not very nice or personable.”

“Good food, but greasy. Also none of the Hungarians in my family are as grumpy as the folks who work here. Maybe they had indigestion. A good place to eat if your furnace quits in the winter. You won't even need your electric blanket.”

“Usually the restaurant is crowded and orders takes a long time to fill. A person coming in during a lunch period may find the staff to be slow and inconsiderate; therefore, one could spend a whole lunch hour waiting for their order. Even if you call ahead, you can expect to wait for long periods of time, which frustrates the customers and often cause attitudes from the staff that takes orders to the personnel in the kitchen filling out the orders. Once you get your order it takes time to get your change. If there were a better system of getting your orders filled - this place would go over leaps and bounds. But out-of-towners beware of the long wait.”

“We went with a group of ten. We waited 1 and 1/2 hours to get served. Six children. My husband was the last to have been served when he told the waitress it was ridiculous that we waited so long. He then said after eight more minutes of waving-as they served many tables of patrons who arrived after we did-"don't bring my food. If you do I am not paying for it." All my family is done eating, why would this take so long? You would think they would show some remorse or give him the food at least, and not charge him. But no, they really didnt care. He paid the entire bill, w/o a morsel in his stomach, because he was planning on picking up the tab. So we left after two hours, with him starving. What a bad experience for all of us.”

“I always judge a restaurant on how clean they keep their bathroom as how clean they keep their kitchen. I have been to this place twice, both times both bathrooms were far from clean.”

“When I called to make reservations I asked if there was corkage fee and was told that they really didn't allow wine to be brought into the restaurant. That was ok; I understand that many restaurants would prefer that customers purchase their wine. I was willing to pay at least a corkage fee for the bottle I wanted to bring in was a 1985 later need I say more for you wine lovers? Yes, a premiere cru from one of the top wineries in the world. I did not tell the manager this nor did I push the issue. My wife and I were looking forward to a nice dinner and the food was excellent, the service not so good, but not that bad either. I just expected more from a restaurant of this caliber. If you have not figured out by now I am a wine lover. As I was looking at their wine list and had commented to the waiter a few bottles I was looking at he mentioned a few wines that were not on the list. Most of them at a higher cost than the wine I was looking at. He did mention one particular cab I was familiar with that I had tried and liked before. That particular wine normally retails for .00 a bottle. I made a mistake by assuming what I know that a typical mark-up on wine would be 50-60% of retail cost and even up to 100% with some other wines. I would not have been surprised to find that bottle priced at 0-5, which had been the price point we were looking at in the first place. When we got our bill the bottle of wine was priced at 0. My point being is please asking your waiter the cost of a bottle of wine if you do not know especially if you are familiar with the wine and winery. I like paying for wine and have purchased many bottles of wine well over 0 in restaurants, but these were wines that had a 25% to 30% mark up like most wines in that price range. Just to set the record straight my wife and I are very easy customers to deal with. We rarely send anything back or make any special request. We were in competition with a table of six next to us who seemed to have our waiter's attention most of the time with special request. Friendly people like us got pushed aside and we waited most of the time for everything. I was a little disjointed in the manager who only once showed up at our table to take my salad plate. No chit chat or how is your wine? Overall it did not ruin my date with my wife and we went to a wine bar afterward to indulge in a few wines we have never tried. We were just a little disappointed in our overall experience at Johnny¿s bistro. We may or may not go back again. We have been to Johnny¿s downtown a half dozen times and have always received great service and better wine service from the wait staff.”

“during our visit, we ordered house special and were served with miso soup and salad. when we got our bills, the waitress told us that she accidentally gave us the salad, when we weren't supposed to. basically, they charged for what we didn't order and was adamant that we pay for it. I can't believe the manager of this sushi house was unwilling to waive the salad and charge us with another $5. I felt very disgusted by this lack of sense in restaurant management and regretted trying this place. I do not recommend such place to anyone, regardless of the quality/prices of food, which were average at best.”

“6/2006, Found club on internet and went there one night, came back for two more. Come after 10pm so most of the regulars have departed else you may wait a while for the A-list dancers. Club is a little small but the service was brisk and the food better than expected. Seems a well-run operation with a mix of amateur and very good talent.”
