• Great food, great atmosphere, and spectacular sunset views.
• Can get crowded on the weekends.

“The Boathouse Restaurant at Breech Inlet not only has great local seafood, but the prime waterfront location also affords the best sunset view from the upper deck that you will find in Charleston. They really know how to prepare fresh seafood, the portions are generous, and the prices reasonable. My wife and I highly recommend it.”

• The fried shrimp is to die for!
• Nothing.

“A wonderful place to enjoy sea foot at its best! After you have been there once you will agree! Owners always friendly and ready to pitch in so that you receive the best service. Their Bread Pudding is wonderful and the fried shrimp is lightly breaded and delicious!”

• Great food, excellent service, seated at reservation time, and lovely intercostals waterway view
• Very loud when restaurant is full.

“Excellent food, great service, great view of intercostals waterway. Seafood choices are delicious and a bit unusual. Greatly improved from the past. Noise level is a problem. Use downstairs inside dining room. Upstairs has a separate kitchen for burgers, etc. Big bar business with band upstairs.”

• Air was temporarily out of order but owner had temporary solution.

“Food awesome! Burgers were great as were crab cakes. Service good but waitress was an edgy (not nearly as friendly as the owner).”

• Food quality; staff lack of friendliness.

“We recently moved to sc and decided to check out coconut Joe¿. We were disappointed. Yes, it sits right on the beach and it's lovely to eat on their deck and watch the ocean, but the service and food were not on a par with the ambience. The wait staff (and hostess) were not particularly friendly and need to go back to smile school. The food was a big disappointment. The coconut shrimp (appetizer) was flavorless and somewhat dried our. And what was that dip they served with the shrimp? Blah! My cheeseburger was overdone and dry and the waitress neglected to bring any condiment. We had to ask for everything (ketchup please; butter please; et.), nor did she bother to ask if we wanted any beverages with our meal, not even water. If we go back, it might be to have an ice cold corona, but we sure won't eat there again. A very lousy value for the money.”

• Wonderful food, great atmosphere, family friendly.
• This place accepts cash only, no credit cards!

“We were lucky enough to be directed here by a friend familiar to the area while we were on vacation last week. Our entire family loved the breakfast. The specials were fantastic and their menu is great. This is a very beach casual place and very nostalgic with wonderful food. My family would recommend it to anyone who wanted a fantastic breakfast while in the Charleston area. Since breakfast was so wonderful, I¿d imagine you couldn't go wrong with other meals as well.”

• Great food, friendly service, charming atmosphere .
• The only negative is I live 550 mile away and can't dine there more.

“This is THE place for an early morning breakfast in the Charleston SC area. Located of the Isle of Palms, it is not hard to find, all the locals can direct you. The decor takes you back in time with a nostalgic see decor. This is not a stuffy, fancy place. They have honest to goodness GOOD food. Breakfast is a specialty People line up outside in the morning before it opens. It is that good. I had grits with shrimp gravy. I was in such a state of nirvana from the best breakfast of my life, I cannot remember what my wife had for breakfast.

If you are in the area - don't miss this place.

• The staff is excellent.
• There really isn't anything negative that I could state about the place.

“Coconut Joe's has a very friendly atmosphere. The staff is pleasant, the food is good, and the view of the ocean is perfect depending on when you like to sit back, relax, and enjoy the surroundings. They often have bands that play - sometimes two bands in one day (one during the afternoon and one during the evening on summer weekends). It tends to have the best of both worlds - family friendly on the lower level where most of the dining takes place and an upper level bar with view of the ocean (this is where you will find the band).



Its a great place to go in the early evening during the summer, enjoy a peach daiquiri, chose a seat with a view of the ocean, and listen to the band in the background. ”

• NOTHING
• Don't go at lunch,plastic cups,extra small portion's,save your $$$ go else where...

“Won't be back here to eat. Went here at lunch time had to walk upstairs ,ordered crab dip don't know what it was, had 6 shrimp in a basket with fries and slaw not much i thought i ordered from a kid's menu. Won't be back there to eat ,we found 2 other places 1 at shem creek beside RB resturant it has a light house at it beside the road forgot the name of it ,the other 1 is in Goose Creek called Gilligan's worth the ride staff was great , priced right and the food was great they had a special all you can eat shrimp and 3 side's for 16.99 the shrimp was great no little one's they were meaty one's ,we will be back there in sept. cant wait.”
