“I went to Damon's when they were on Sequoia Parkway in Tigard, a few years back for a company meeting. The food and service was among the worst I've ever seen. The waitress who took our orders (17 of us) went home sick so they sent another waitress in 1/2 hour later to re-take our orders. Apparently they don't write things down. The food was borderline inedible. Even the Meatloaf tasted like dried out Alpo Dog Food. The waitress disappeared for the duration of the visit and most of us had empty water glasses throughout the meal. She finally managed to feign some perkiness around tip time. That location fortunately and understandably went out of business. It certainly isn't the food or the service.”

“I thought this restaurant was the best restaurant ever, when my family and I could feel an environment that we were safe.”

“My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast at Besaw's. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. It was very crowded when we went but since it did happen to be a holiday and we did not have reservations, a 20 minute wait was worth it. This place is pretty small but that adds to the charm and coziness of many of Portland's non-chain diners. I saw a mix match of every kind. Parents with kids, love-struck couples, the well seasoned of life, all plunked down at the bar and little round tables, conversations abuzz. We would eat out here again in a heartbeat.”

“The worst food I have ever attempted to eat. Both entrees were returned to the kitchen because they were inedible, and I have never returned food in my life. The ceasar salad was a pile of lettuce with stale bread crotons and mayo for dressing! The ribs came on blank white plate with nothing else on it and looked like beef jerky wrapped bones. I wouldn't go back.”

“Not bad for in the mall. Not the usual food court type of place. You sit inside it, it is decorated like a 50's diner. Good burgers, fries and shakes. The food may not be fantastic, but it will not disappoint you. Neatly presented, and reasonably quick service. Some of the wait staff is really quite good. Super professional and make you feel like you are important to them.”

“Rialto has all the right elements to be an A class billiard room, except there are hardly any players. I think that there are are a lot of possibilities for this spot.”

“A great place, we'll be going here again. Great food, good service and welcoming for my 2 young children. It didn't matter if they were a little noisy or a little messy! We'll be back!”

“I'm a regular! This would be my favorite breakfast destination in Portland although lunch is fantastic as well. Great variety on the menu. Always good quality food. Relaxed atmosphere. Tables outside to enjoy the sunshine.”

“Great sports bar, with healthy, non greasy food. The server is out of this world, with the most beautiful young lady who will gladly bring your food, as you like it. Actual race cars hang from the walls and are also suspended from the ceiling. One of the few true neighbors grills left in Portland. Meet the locals of Parkrose, or the travelers who come in to be around a friendly place. If you liked cheers atmosphere on TV, you will fit right in at this fine establishment. If youre in from out of town, and just want a friendly place to warm up, or cool off, this place is it. 108th and sandy. Just look for Richard petty race car on the roof.”

“Hoho is a great, dependable Chinese restaurant in se Portland. I've liked every dish Ive tried there, but my favorite by far is their sesame chicken. It is not the typical fried fatty chunks that most places have. Great lunch special prices. The atmosphere in the restaurant isn't the greatest, so maybe not best for a night out entertaining friends. I usually get carry out, always fast and easy, and again great food.”

“Fun Food with flavors you don't usually find in Portland. The staff is pleasant and do all they can to welcome and serve you. I love Asian food especially from Malaysia/Singapore/Indonesia and this is one of the only places in the local area you can find it.”

“We lived in China and spent several months in Thailand, and, we are always searching for authentic Asian food in the USA/Canada, EU. Our careers take us on the road 30+ weeks per year. We tried Ling Garden on our recent stay in NW Portland. The restaurant is sparsely decorated and clean, and not meant for ambience. Similar to non-touristy places in China. The food was very authentic - not much Americanizing. Thank goodness. The seafood and vegetable dishes are the best of that which we tried - well flavored and crisp. Try any of them. If you like spicy ask them to add a little heat. We tried several shrimp, fish and scallop dishes - all rate at least 8/10 for authenticity. We will be going back for several meals in August once we return to Portland. Ling Garden is now in our top ten list of best Asian restaurants from anywhere we have traveled in the USA/Canada. From our experiences, any Chinese or Thai restaurant which advertises its ambience and authentic decoration, has Americanized its food. Ling Garden has stayed as true as possible to its roots.”

“I like this a lot and eat in or carry out frequently. Pizza is some of the best in town and not too expensive for what you get. The Salads are worth trying too and very large. A small will take care 2 people with out a problem. Beer list is good and the interior is very interesting with several different rooms including 2 bars and a castle. You will see what I'm talking about if you go. Like the other reviewer mentioned, the service can be slow but the people are usually friendly and always very hip. I think it's worth trying for sure.”

“Prices are slightly higher than other fast food, but its cooked fresh and better than fast food. Milkshakes are to die for, and the fish is halibut and awesome. Fish is smaller pieces but have no batter just thin breading.”

“This dumpy, hole in the wall kind of place has some of the best Mongolian beef and general twos chicken I have had anywhere. The rest of the food is pretty Americanized Chinese food. The servers have worked there for years and it can be real hit or miss if you get good service or not. It's certainly not a romantic place and is pretty dingy inside. It's worth any of the negatives of this place just to have the Mongolian beef.”

“Been twice and loved it both times! Fabulous food and wine, really charming courtyard, they know how to take advantage of the natural attributes of their location. Our waitress the first time and our waiter the second time were top-notch, personable, and attentive. The chef visited us our first time and was a gregarious and fun person. We got the tip to dine here from a passerby on the street after we gave him a general idea of the kind of restaurant we were looking for. I'm sending my sister and brother-in-law soon !”

“In town on business I was told this was the place to go. Boy, were they right! The happy hour menu was great. The hand pressed juices for cocktails really made a big difference! The locals at the bar made me feel very comfortable and they were a wealth of information on the city and surrounding areas. I would go back again the next time I was in town. I think I may just become a regular!”

“Amazing steak, cooked to perfection. You MUST try the onion rings and the savory sauce that accompanies them. Even if you do not like onions, you will love this melt-in-your-mouth, tasty appetizer. Pricey, but delicious. Recommend going for a special occasion.”

“Having never had Moroccan food before, I wasn't sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable and the service was attentive without hovering. The dishes are varied and spiced just enough and, of course, plentiful. Two people can dine extremely well for about $30 per person, including wine. Oh, and the belly dancer was a nice touch.”

“Great food, good atmosphere, helpful staff. Because it was ala carte on everything, found it a little more expensive than had hoped. Make sure to take a look at a menu if you're price conscious before sitting down. However, food was very good and is a great place for a "special night out".”
