User Reviews for Columbia Restaurants« Go back to Corvallis HotelsResearch User Reviews for Columbia (1-19 of 19)Sato Japanese Steak House
“Sato was very different from what I expected. From trying other Japanese restaurants like Sumo, I was able to experience a different taste and a different level of authenticity. Sumo's food was also good, but Sato's food just tasted like something out of the ordinary. For example, the fried rice at Sumo's tasted somewhat like a mediocre dish that you can acquire at a nearby China Hut. But Sato's rice is very different and has a taste that must be experienced yourself to be believed. The staff was friendly but I don't think it is a very romantic atmosphere because of the different parties that you have to sit with and the loudness of the restaurant itself (with other chefs cooking and lots of other people talking.) But one thing that I did not like but I guess it couldn't be helped was the long wait time during weekends. I did not have a reservation and had to wait for 45 minutes to actually sit down. But other than that, it was a great experience!”

“I was there recently to celebrate a co-workers b-day. I only had two items. They were priced reasonably. Beware of over pricing.”

“Food was very good, but tasted more Korean than Thai. Help was very friendly, but a bit slow. Very small with zero atmosphere. I thought the prices were a bit high. I would go back if I couldn't find any other Thai restaurants. I went there for Thai fish, but shrimp is all they have in the way of seafood.”

“Great turkey burgers! Fresh foods prepared on the spot. Great for take-out. Restaurant itself is cramped and noisy. Favorite local lunchtime place.”

“I have traveled the world, and everywhere I have gone, I have sampled the local sushi where possible. I can honestly say Inakaya ranks in the top half a dozen sushi bars I have ever visited. One disclaimer is needed here; even though I may have to wait an hour to be seated, I always sit at the sushi bar - apart form wanting to see for myself what fish looks appetizing, I prefer to order directly from the sushi chef each portion as I am ready to consume it, and as such, I cannot vouch for the general seating in the restaurant. Form my vantage point, I had a huge dilemma - absolutely everything looked as if it had just been taken out of the sea! It tasted it as well, with the yellowtail seeming to melt in my mouth, it was so moist and succulent! As an added bonus, although the portion prices are very reasonable, Inakaya is one of those sushi bars that give 2 pieces per portion, and each piece is absolutely enormous! Grumbles? I regret there was one irksome thing - they do not use real crabmeat in their rolls. It's a small nitpick, but a nitpick nonetheless (which is why Inakaya "only" makes my world-wide top 6 list, rather than being number 1!)”

“Hands down, this is the best sushi bar in the Columbia area! The sushi chef is efficient, friendly and knowledgeable, the fish is ultra-fresh and tasty - and the portions (2 pieces per portion) are reasonably priced and indecently large, what more could you wish for!”

“This place is boarded up. It's out of business. Closed. Bye.”

“This is the worst Hardees in town. In fact, it's one of the worst Hardees I've ever been to (and this is including Carl's Jr. out West). The sad part of this is that their burgers are still really quite good, but only if you actually get what you order. Be sure to check your meal before leaving the window if you're driving through. Also when they inevitably ask you to "pull up and wait on your food" so they can "bring it out to you in a minute," I highly recommend saying "No" and waiting right there at the window. Otherwise you'll be waiting for 10 minutes after they forget about you. Good food, wretched service.”

“I left my office on May 15, '07 at 1:00 and drove to Rush's at Harbison. Ordered two hot dogs, small fries, and small Pepsi I drove back to my office as I was on my lunch hour and getting food for one of my co-workers as well. Imagine how shocked I was when I opened the bag and had a junior cheeseburger and fries. I gave the cheeseburger to my co-worker and I ate French fries for lunch! Beware, check your order before you drive away.”

“Best sushi bar in Columbia hands down. Sit at the sushi bar and converse with chefs who actually trained in Japan, unlike many Korean or Chinese owned places who are jumping on the sushi bandwagon just to make a buck.”

“This is the family favorite for all special celebrations! The welcome you receive from the hostess and/or bartender, the attention you receive and humor you share with the chef - every part of this dining experience is fun!”

“Fantastic food, great service and wonderful prices. We have been going to Sato's Inakaya restaurants since 1997, and it is the best sushi in the state. I cannot say enough great things about this place!”

“We made a last minute decision to go to outback at Harrison. Biggest mistake ever. We arrived at 6 and did not get seated until 8.while we watched party after party just walk in and get served. Evidently the have a call ahead status where you call ahead and when you arrive you are immediately served. We watched party after party leave angry screaming at the hostesses. It was Friday night, it was busy. But come on. I will never ever go back to this particular outback.”

“I go to this place a lot with friends and family. The food is really good. You get soup and salad with your meal. The cooks are really personable. For larger parties they have a more intimate area. It's best to get a reservation at this place especially if you go on the weekend, it's packed. Parking is also limited on the weekend due to high traffic.”

“You have the best hamburgers in the world. I drove from Soddy daisy Tennessee to get a chill cheeseburger and it was well worth the 6 hour drive. Sure wish we had a rush's here in the Chattanooga area. Iżll be back for my chill cheese burger will not let cut in half again really soon. I even have friends that tell me they will send me one we were in Columbia for 4 days and we had rush's all 4 days.”
