Wan Lung Restaurant
Nov 24, 2008 by Toni from Clackamas

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9
Food:[9] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[7]

  • Tasty, inexpensive food.
  • Dining area not the best set up.

“My family really likes the food. We especially like the dry-sauteed green beans which we received by accident once and have been ordering ever since. We tend to get the same thing every time we order but have occasionally tried different dishes and have been pleasantly surprised. Dining area is open and seems a little antiseptic. Kitchen is incorporated into dining area and doesn't have great ventilation so it tends to be noisy and you get the oil infusion scent in your clothes and hair so we usually get to go.”

Wan Lung Restaurant

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Great price for lunch and good food!
  • Place could be updated.

“The lunches have a great proportion for the price and the food comes fast! The shrimp chow mien and the green beans are good quality Chinese food. Cooked in open so you can see what and how they cook it.”

New Ole Medium Rare Restaurant
Jul 2, 2008 by Chelsea from Protland

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8

  • Hand dipped halibet is the best I have ever tried!
  • The huge sign in the front says it still has Chinese which is not true.

“The new ole's medium rare no longer exists, it has been taken over by a new owner and has a whole new menu. It is now called Diamond back grill. There is no more Chinese. It is all American food, no more bad service and excellent taste in food. Being now family owned it is a very friendly environment.”

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Quick, reliable, tasty, reasonably priced.
  • Atmosphere is bland strip mall.

“Great takeout place. Quick and reliable service. Food is very fresh and tasty. I advise general Tso's chicken, Kung Pao chicken, 10 ingredient chow mein, scallops with green vegetables. All food mild unless ordered extra spicy. It is our takeout comfort food. Up from Safeway.”

Harmony House Restaurant
Nov 15, 2007 by Bill from Troutdale, Or

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • Perfectly named. Warm, friendly staff and excellent food.
  • A little tight on parking at a busy time.

“Perfectly named, the harmony house is just that. It's an older two story home converted to a home style restaurant. It preserves such a home feel to it, which you almost want to knock or ring the door bell at the front door before entering. When you do walk in, you are not only met by the smiles of the friendly staff, but of the patrons as well. Surely an excellent recommendation for what can follow. They have a wide variety of items for breakfast; with daily specials that feature the likes of Greek omelets and some of the best home made bread you can find anywhere. They have this "super spud" breakfast item that strikes me more for a brunch than early breakfast, but I have seen plenty of satisfied diners attacking this abundantly served faire. Try their pancakes also. One of the biggest and best tasting short stacks you'll find anywhere. The staff is as attentive as it is friendly. They really make you feel at home. A nice touch on the side. You know how you go into some home style places and they have knick knacks nailed to the walls and old books glued together on a book shelf? Here, you can pick up an old book published in the 40's and look through it, while drinking your coffee or sipping your hot chocolate next to the fireplace in the front room that has be converted into your morning breakfast nook. Put it back and time travel in an even older text book, and don't feel rushed. Almost hate to see the secret get out about this great breakfast spot.”

New Ole Medium Rare Restaurant
Oct 13, 2007 by Beverly from Redland

Overall Rating: 4 User Rating Score: 4
Food:[6] • Service:[3] • Atmosphere:[2]

  • No wait to get in the door.
  • Long wait to get your order.

“It's a Chinese restaurant with meat and seafood on the back of the menu. We went on a Friday night at 7pm. We were the only diners. The prices were a bit high but it was a special occasion so we ordered prime rib and lobster. They only had one slice of prime rib so hubby had to change to rib eye. Salads came half hour later. Dinner took an hour. Prime rib was over cooked and nearly cold, baked potato was so overcooked it was brown inside; horseradish came in a paper thimble. My food came 5 minutes before my husbands but then I had to ask for a steak knife so I waited longer. I was very disappointed for a $35.00 plate dinner.”

New Ole Medium Rare Restaurant
Jun 18, 2007 by May from Vancouver

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] • Service:[8] • Atmosphere:[7]

  • Big portion and reasonable price.
  • Karaoke at the bar next door is very noisy.

“Prime rib is mouth watering, and tender. The portion is big, and the price is so reasonable. My favorite appetizer is baby back ribs, and chef has created his own secret BBQ sauce. It's yummy. Another specialty there is Chinese food. I really enjoy the general chicken, and kung pao dishes. I will strongly recommend people in Clackamas to visit this restaurant.”

Overall Rating: 5 User Rating Score: 5
Food:[5] • Service:[8] • Atmosphere:[3]

  • Value.
  • Below average quality in taste.

“The Sweet & Sour Pork was not the best. A little greasy and not best pieces of pork. The pork fried rice was generous. More pork than expected. Average by my standards.”

The Old Mill Cafe & Bakery
Oct 4, 2006 by Barbara from Happy Valley

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • Friendly interaction between the owners Rob & Debbie & Chef Bob. Much friendlier atmosphere.
  • None that I know of!

“Since the new owners took over Old Mill everything has improved 100% & more, the new Chef (a real chef not a short order cook) is innovative & prepares wonderful food. The owners' welcome comments positive or negative, this way they can always improve, they would rather you be vocal than not! They work very hard to make your visit a positive experience, it gets better & better each time we visit for a meal or a glass of wine. The roadwork's are almost completed so don't let the previous comments put you off from a visit to Old Mill, the roadwork's end at the end of October when completion is due.”

The Old Mill Cafe & Bakery
Jun 8, 2006 by Dan from Canby, OR

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • Great Reuben Sandwich and Tater Tots. Great atmosphere.
  • The temporary road construction makes access tricky.

“This is hands-down the best Reuben Sandwich I have ever eaten! The fresh-made bread is topped only by the tender corned beef. I am a fan of Reuben sandwiches and I judge a restaurant by how well they make this classic meal. Old Mill Cafe does an excellent job. The restaurant has both a fun, casual public house atmosphere, as well as a fine dining side. The restaurant is located in a real old flour mill and it retains some of the original mill equipment for a unique dining experience. I have recommended Old Mill to my friends and family.”

The Old Mill Cafe & Bakery
Jun 2, 2006 by Mindi

Overall Rating: 2 User Rating Score: 2
Food:[5] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[1]

  • Location.
  • Service.

“Food was OK, service was friendly enough but horrible quality. Wait staff talked at the bar with owners or employees for a long time while we waited watching her, waiting for our bill. TV was on quite loud. I was hoping for a good local place, but not this one.”

Wan Lung Restaurant
Apr 21, 2006 by Gail from Portland

Overall Rating: 7 User Rating Score: 7
Food:[10] • Service:[8] • Atmosphere:[6]

  • Food is delicious and loads of food for the money.
  • A little chilly.

“Best Crab Rangoon I've found in town. Great fried rice, not overwhelmed with soy sauce. Can actually taste the veggies in the fried rice. Can be a little noisy, open tables, usually lots of children. ”

The Old Mill Cafe & Bakery
Mar 19, 2006 by Tom from Beaverton, OR

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8
Food:[9] • Service:[7] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • Food is very good and reasonable priced.
  • Access from Sunnyside is limited by construction, hopefully will be resolved soon.

“The new owners have made significant changes for the better at the restaurant. The food is very good and the service has gotten better each time we've been there. They often have specials which are influenced by New Orleans style cooking (the daughter of the owners goes to school in New Orleans). They also make their own pastrami which is wonderful. One side of the restaurant has a pub-like atmosphere. This is were we take our 10 year old son. He always has the fish and chips. The fish has a wonderful batter and my son allows me to filch some of his crisp fries. The other side is fine dinning. They serve a 5 course Prix Fixed dinner. For a fixed price, you can chose from several items for each course. We've gone to this portion of the restaurant several times before going to the symphony. All the bread and deserts are made in their own bakery. Last time we were there, we got to taste warm rye rolls the owner had just baked. We just kept asking for more and more rolls. If you've not been to this restaurant in a while, I'd suggest you try it again. We are going there for dinner tonight!”
