• Excellent food. Excellent atmosphere. Spotless bathrooms. Awesome decor.
• Pricey.

“Delicious food. My mom found the chicken wings completely addicting! The building is much bigger inside than it looked from the outside! The booths are very big, the food is delicious, the decorations are VERY cool such as working phone booths, old punch-clocks and a turn-of-the-century phone. You can eat on the roof, on the second floor overlooking the first floor (if you can take the stairs), or sit on the ground floor where we did. I would have expected the bathrooms to keep the feel of your typical bar and grill but stepping into the women's bathroom, there was a classic feel and high level of elegance that Id compare to the powder rooms in the theaters where you might see Rent or something. Beautiful and spotless. The staff was friendly. My only complaint is the food is pricey (but their food holds up to such prices) and they ran out of the drink, my mother had wanted to order. But besides that, a terrific place and a surprising little gem well hidden in the tiny city of Batavia.”

“This place is repulsive. The prices are high, the food is horrible, the service is bad. I've witnessed a waitress drop a pan of spaghetti on the floor and then scoop it back in and put it on the buffet. Do not go here.”

• High prices, average food, disgusting stories.

“This place's prices are high, with average portions. The service is average and the owner is really friendly. The food is good, could be better. I've heard some pretty disgusting stories from people who have worked there. Word of advice, stick to Applebee's or center street smokehouse.”

• Food, convenience, price and staff the best.
• That there aren't more of Ficarell's pizza places around.

“The drive up window is very convenient and the staff and owner are accommodating and friendly. The place is very clean and food EXCELLENT!”

• I wish I lived closer to it I'd be there every day if I could.

“I wish I could give the Smoke House more than a 10. The atmosphere is great, the staff are friendly and attentive, and the food is fantastic. It probably wouldn't appeal to those who are looking for fancy-schmancy dining, but if you want some down-home, southern barbecue then this is the place for you. As Sheriff Andy would say, It's good.”

• It was air-conditioned.
• Manager was flippant; waitress was limited with skills; bartender was poor in drink preparations.

“Poor management dominates this establishment along with high prices and limited quality. The drinks are expensive and inadequately prepared and served. If in town, visit Alexs place or south beach for an excellent meal. If it is quick food you desire, go to one of the fast food places on main street.”

• The food.
• Long wait.

“This was by far the best barbeque I have had since moving up north. The wait was long but, their slogan is "well worth the wait" and they were right. Everything we had was excellent. I would recommend anyone going down I-90 stop here. We will visit again.”

• Damn near everything.
• Been there many times and I have never had any problems. Bathroom is a little small I guess.

“When I first moved to Batavia I went everyplace that sells food here with my wife trying to find the new family place we would want to call our #1 place to eat. Here ya go, they have everything under the sun. The people were great and the service was fast and friendly. But oh my god there food was the best. I am a 300lb man and the plates they brought to me were enormous. All the meat they cook there is so tender and they have food for the folks that only eat veggies. No tofu here though. This is down south cooking at its best and we are in the north. Come here, get your belly full and be ready to undo your belt buckle when you get to the car.”

• Liked the atmosphere.
• Gets very crowded in the bar.

“Had to wait an hour, but sat in the bar area and snacked on free crackers/cheese that is put out by the staff. The drinks were great as was the food and all was very reasonably priced. Great service, nice folks to talk with in the bar area....all we met was friendly and enjoyable to talk with....Would recommend to anyone.”

• Excellent food, pleasant waitress, relaxed atmosphere.
• None.

“Food was excellent. We ordered the rib and sea for two. Service was pleasant and fast but not rushed. Atmosphere was private, we sat in a booth. Very enjoyable experience. I would definitely recommend!”
