“We used to eat at V&r quite often and I do not know why we changed. We had a so-so meal tonight. We wandered in having forgotten about restaurant week. The bread was warm and good. My salad was not very good: a small plate with the greens whole so you had to cut them on the small plate. I had one lettuce leaf with a large bad hole in it. The tomato had been refrigerated so forget that. My husband had the lasagna which was large and not very good. I had the shrimp scampi. The shrimp was overcooked as was the pasta. The sauce was too runny. Will we go back I doubt it.”

“This is the best place I've eaten in. I have become a regular now, coming here at least once a week. It's beautiful and the staff is friendly. I highly recommend it.”

“The worst BBQ I ever had. We had to wait 1 hour for a terrible meal. Service was passable, not because it was good, but because they were at least trying. I will never go back. Try anywhere else.”

“Might be the worst food I've had in years. I ordered the Turkey sandwich from the off the grill section of the menu. I got two slices of what appeared to be wonder bread, with two or three slices of deli-sliced turkey and what tasted like gravy from a jar on top. The sweet potato fries were bland as cardboard, except for the few from one area of the plate that tasted like coffee - as though someone splashed some on by accident. My husband ordered the cottage pie. What he got resembled prison fare. Unseasoned, dry ground beef under a layer of canned corn, with what tasted like instant mashed potatoes piped on top. And on top, a mountain of melted cheese that is not mentioned in the menu. And the chicken toes appetizer - thickly battered and greasy - totally tasteless.”

“It is under new management the new name is "pearl street public house". I have to say this was a whole new place from our last years experience. The waitress explained that there still might be some changes. Our waitress was entertaining, quick and personable, even with a full dining room she managed to spend quality time with all her tables. It was quiet at first in the back then with-in minutes we were not alone. Great job new owners keep up the good work. We actually had to hang out for 40 minutes until our show started. We were greeted with-in a minute , drinks right after, then we received our meals with-in ten minutes of our order. Everyone must try out the all new restaurant across from the times union center. The nasty waitress we had last year i saw that night please get rid of her she is bad business.”

“I have gone there several times for company Christmas / Retirement parties. The food was always good with good portions. It is a nice cozy place with a bar in the other room. It is a nice casual restaurant, not real fancy.”

“I travel to Albany 4-6 times a month for business and always make a point to eat at Ralphs. The service is just ok but the food is worth waiting for.”

“This homey, funny, real place is the perfect antidote to the holiday inn next door where I was attending a conference. Good coffee and wraps and totally comfortable surroundings. It's in an actual old house in contrast to the strip mall fast food world around it. Not everybody's cup of tea, I suppose, but it felt more like Berkeley than Berkeley does these days. The yes no questions on this site may be misleading. I was there on business (a conference) but my business is songwriting and storytelling. .”

“I was recently at grandma's pie shop and paid $10.00 for a piece of pumpkin pie alamode. They charged $5.50 for the pie and $4.50 for the ice cream. My receipt stated $5.50 for pie alamode. I thought alamode included the ice cream, but I was charged another $4.50 for the ice cream. I brought to the attention of one of the workers and they said the ice cream is only provided with the apple cinnamon pie. That was a pretty expensive dessert! I won't be going back again!”

“The worst meal ever. Ordered crab cake over garden salad. Salad consisted of brown edged cut up ice-burg lettuce and a thin strip of green pepper - that's it. Avocado dressing wasn't any better. Mayonnaise with Avocado flavor. Didn't really see one speck of actual Avocado. Partner's roasted chicken sandwich was extremely dry.”

“The service is always great when I dine here, however it is extremely noisy and the tables seem to be getting closer and closer together. Also, the host/manager is very snobbish and rude. There are many other places in the area with just as good of food if not better, that charge less, and all of the people are friendly.”

“It is the best restaurant I have eve been to. The food is garret and without any pain to your wallet. The waitresses are always kind and complimentary. The chefs are amazing to watch and the food is even better. The sushi is the best I have ever had. I go there all the time and I can afford it too!”

“The host/manager is extremely flamboyant and rude. My server, a young female with dark hair was exceptional. The food was good, just a little overpriced. Due to the rudeness of the man at the front door, I will not go back.”

“Beautiful & surprisingly roomy design with open kitchen. I had the a special with seared sea bass and a wonderful chorizo and apple risotto. Service was attentive. Wine list was good. Prices were justified.”

“ I love Japanese food so I was extremely excited to hear about Saso's since I will be working here for another year or so. Much to my surprise it ended up being the worst dining experience I have had in Albany thus far. The whole time I was there Saso was behind the sushi bar mocking his staff and making rude remarks to his customers. He kept insisting to his staff that they did not know what they were doing and that their sole job is to make his job easier. It appeared that his assistant had little to no training and Saso kept berating him the entire time. My companion asked Saso if the golf trophy beside the TV was his and Saso replied, "What a stupid question. Why does it matter?". My companion is a golfer and was trying to make some light conversation to stop him from whining the entire time so that we could enjoy our dinner. Saso kept on and on about how it was a stupid question and would not let it go despite my companion's attempts to explain that it was just small talk. In addition to the constant rude remarks from Saso I found the food to be too salty and not very fresh. I guess that's what Saso meant when he kept insisting that he had too much sushi on hand. This is the first bad review I have ever given, but it is well deserved. If you go to Saso's, make sure to sit at a table and not at the sushi bar.”

“A diverse menu of bbq items to choose from, plus burgers and sandwiches. The pulled pork is the best I have ever had. Plus you get your choice of bbq sauces at your table. Sports rule, for there are TV's everywhere. A nice touch for the sports fanatic is the "squawk" boxes at most tables, which allows you to listen to any of the TV broadcasts being aired on the multiple sets with the turn of the dial. It's a fun place to meet friends or business associates. ”

“I was totally impressed with my meal last night. Our drinks came out within minutes of arrival, appetizers were no more than 3 minutes after that (literally), and our meals came when the appetizers were done. New drinks were brought out before I took my last sip out of the glass and everyone was very nice! The food was amazing, My very Italian friend even wants to bring her sisters to Delmonico's for dinner because it taste's like real Italian food. I couldn't have expected anything better!”

“This is my favorite pizza place in the Capital District area. It's absolutely delicious. You can order it any way you like, thin crust or thick crust. I always get the thick crust. They also have awesome baked wings, not fried. Problem is the place itself is just ok looking, they have seats and tables for dine in but there's no ambience. Plus Central Avenue isn't as cool as Washington or Western Ave for going to bars and such.”
