User Reviews for Somerset Restaurants« Go back to Karlsruhe Travel GuideResearch User Reviews for Somerset (1-5 of 5)Franks Pizza & Restaurant
“Franks pizza is bar none the best pizza in Somerset. It can't compete against Pizza Hut, Papa Johns and Dominoes for pricing but it is by far better than anything they have to offer when it comes to taste. Other small pizza shops in Somerset as well are cheaper but lack flavor. Typical items as Stromboli, Calzones, Spaghetti and Lasagna are on the menu as well as some sandwiches. Steak and Cheese sandwich is awesome. Bring you appetite but bring your money as well.”

“This is an absolute MUST stop whenever I travel the turnpike. The diner is truly a trip into the past: What dining on the road was like when true non-franchised restaurants were the rule of the road. The food is straight forward, well prepared and an exceptional value. In the various times I have stopped, I have always found the waitresses friendly and always wanting to top off the coffee mug. Speaking of mugs, I definitely recommend purchasing one of their old time mugs which is very reasonably priced. You'll think of a great dining experience whenever you sit back at home with the mug in hand. ”

“This is the place to eat when you want real good honest diner food loved this place for over 40 years I am from Somerset originally and had not been back for 17 tears . This was the first place my sister and brother -in law ate after a very long flight from Ca. and long drive from Pittsburgh The waitress was so sweet and if you ever get a chance to go there be sure to ask her what kind of pie she has and for heaven sake get a piece!! even though you will probably be stuffed get it anyway!!!”

“My wife and I and nine family members visiting the area to see Seven Springs and Shanks vile (Flt.93) stopped at the diner in June. The two waitresses served us well in the back room. Both were relatively new and we joked and had a great time. Food was good too!! I (age 75) was going to "steal" my coffee mug as a souvenir but my daughter insisted I leave it and she purchased two of them for me!! We had a great visit to the Somerset area and your staff helped make it enjoyable!!”

“We were visiting the area from Florida and at a request from my brother-in-law, from Mc Keesport, we drove to your restaurant. We had the buffet dinner. For the most part the food was just warm. It was impossible to find the onions in the onion rings covered with heavy batter. The gravy was to the cool side.”
