“My wife and I are frequent Thai food eaters. We were traveling through on our way to Tucson and our GPS showed us that there was a local Thai food restaurant in the area. The place was empty when we went in, which I found very strange on a weekend evening. The menus were falling apart and the prices were very high especially for such a low rent looking restaurant. My wife and I both ordered soup, drunken noodle and soda. First, the sodas were really flat which was a sign of things to come. An extraordinarily long period of time passed until the waiter brought out our food. Well, I was expecting to get our soup first and then get the entree, I was wrong; they brought it all out together and the soup was cold already. When we got to the drunken noodle. Wow, it was horrible. The type of noodles are very low quality and they made the dish so hot that very few people could ever eat it let alone enjoy it. The drunken noodle really didn't have any flavor to it in fact it just tasted like cayenne pepper, not even any Thai spices. When we complained to our waiter he didn't really seem to care and he almost seemed like he was very used to the complaints, I was really amazed that he didn't think it was a big deal. BTW, I never saw the manager once in fact I am not even sure if they had a manager on duty. If you like Thai and are used to eating good food do not eat here it will just make you second guess every Thai food restaurant in the future. Take our advice and spend your money someplace else.”

“I went to New Mexico to visit someone and we went to "Caliches" and I loved it! He still teases me every time he gets a "Straw-Ana" YUM! Cant wait to get another one.”

“I originally came from CA where there are Chinese food restaurants on every corner and everyone of those restaurants are great. However, upon my arrival in Las Cruses, great tasting Chinese food was hard to find. A friend of mine suggested we eat at this restaurant and I was delightfully surprised. It can be guaranteed that your food will be fresh. There are no heated lamp displays. This restaurant cooks your order in the kitchen and brings it out to you. It is rich in flavor and you will usually never have to add any additional condiments. The orange chicken at this restaurant is fresh chicken breast that appears to be breaded in a "tempura-like" breading. The orange sauce [which looks much like the traditional sweet and sour sauce] can be served on the side to allow you to dip your chicken with as much sauce as you like. Another thing that I enjoyed is that the sauces that are used in some of the other dishes are not thick and allow for the flavor of the vegetables and meat to be the first thing you taste instead of the thick soy sauce gravy that other restaurants use (Five Brothers) to drown out the actual flavor of the food and perhaps hide the freshness quality.”

“Caliche's has really good food, and very friendly servers. Sometimes it takes a little longer to get your food, but it's always worth the wait, and it's never more than 15 minutes. Plus they have a huge selection of custard treats, hot dogs, nachos, and even more. Yum!”

“The service sucks. If you are looking for quick service do not go to caliches. You can wait up to 45 mins in the drive through. not worth the wait.”
